After our health assessment, I asked my hubby to ASAP Room Melbourne because I have seen this post in Facebook several times and it is catchy, and it looks very interesting. Despite being a cafe that Thai people gather for chatting or dinner, they also arrange educated activities in various areas that Thai people like us can utilise in daily life such as useful tips and experiences that can be improvised and applied. On top of that, I had an opportunity to talk to a person, who has been staying in Melbourne for 3 weeks. We briefly shared our life stories and got to give each other encouragement. This person also left me the final message before leaving to a class that if you feel tired or down, you can come to heal ourselves and chitchat with friends here. (I cannot remember all the sentences, but these were what I mostly remembered) It makes me feel like...this is not a regular cafe that people are here to just grab a coffee and go, or to gather for activities. But it is a warm place where you can feel like being embraced with friends and families to share our life experiences. P'Oil, ASAP Room owner, is also extremely kind and friendly. She gave us a very warm welcome. In terms of the activity that we attended last night was in regards to Tax Return Talk, which I have collected so many new information and knowledges. Not just me that learned something new, but have you seen this little boy in the photo? This is the very person who made us stay to attend the session. Because of his curiosity and wanted to be socialised, it also gave him a lifetime experience as well. When to speak up when other people are speaking. How to ask and how to express his body language Kids this age, no matter how much we teach him, he wouldn't remember and understand what we have been teaching him. Seems like he understands what we said, but in fact he never utilises what he had learnt or what we had taught (Mom is super tired to teach now 🤭) As I mentioned, I got lucky with the coincidence. I acquired more knowledge meanwhile the boy had a chance to experience the stand-up talk session, which he was able to sit still for almost an hour quietly. This is the first time I experienced this kind of learn progression, which he is usually being silent when he is asleep. 🤭 Thank you everyone and especially P'Oil that adore Nava.

REVIEW: Asap room is inside another building that is part of a massive foyer. Under a roof, there's still plenty of light filtering from the top to give you that "outside" feeling without making customers be subject to the chaotic Melbourne weather. ☀

Their Pad Kaprao is a generous serving! I wasn't able to finish the rice, but enjoyed all the garlic and thai chilli flavours. ✔ The service is really kind - offering to customize your spice level - and the smattering of cucumbers keeps things refreshing. ✖ Pork belly skin was a little bit too hard for me. I would come back to try some of their other dishes!

🤗 I love the fun sticker decor. It's distinctive and making it pictures of faces adds a lot of whimsical humour. I think I've even seen the van driving around...

Came here specifically for the plant-based crispy pork bánh mì that was listed on their website, but when I ordered in-store it was put through as the meat version. I asked again and was told the plant-based option wasn’t actually available, as it was only being trialled in other items that day, so we couldn’t order it. A bit confusing and disappointing.

I ended up getting the mushroom and tofu bánh mì instead. The tofu was raw, sliced straight off the block and very lightly heated to lukewarm. The mushrooms were also completely uncooked. I’d also asked for no chilli but got chilli. I asked for a refund, which they were happy enough to give, but gave in cash even though I’d paid by card, which just added to the odd experience.

A lot of items listed on their online menu weren’t available in-store. At least the strawberry matcha...
