Very mediocre. 🫥 The fried boneless chicken had a very crunchy—almost hard—exterior, with a noticeable oily aftertaste.
❌🇰🇷The flavor doesn’t resemble authentic Korean fried chicken; it tastes more like the fried chicken you'd get from a Chinese takeaway.
It seems like they might be using chicken drumette fillets instead of thigh meat, which would typically result in a juicier bite.
Overall, it's on par with Nene Chicken, but definitely a step below places like Jang Dalk, Janggun, Popo Lee, 7 Grams, or even KFC, Gami and Hot Star.
🪑 The shop is narrow, seats about 12 people, and isn’t wheelchair-friendly.
Pros: The chicken is served with Korean kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), which is important.
💰 Small $14 (6pieces), medium $24, large $42 boneless fried chicken.

We walked in and nobody greeted us. We finally got served and after being passed to someone else they confirmed our booking.
The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Service was good and we had almost zero waiting.
We got the prawn and got a starters. The prawns were nice and Gyoza was ok.
For the main we got pork belly, spicy pork and soy pork. The pork belly was nice but didn’t have any seasoning at all. The spicy pork was ok but needed a bit more seasoning and tbh wasn’t all that spicy. The soy pork was really nice. There was a good selection of salad, pickled dishes and kimchi etc.
Price wise it was very reasonably priced for the amount of food we got and the quality.

Read moreOur family had great experience on our first time having Korean Barbeque. Had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised at Haysung Korean Barbeque. The food was excellent, the waitress was lovely & very helpful. The main meal food was very tasty and seasoned by your self as you cooked it at your table. The entrees were of exceptional quality and I could have just feasted on those but wanted the full experience. The restaurant is not overly big so booking is recommended any night of the week as the people coming in when we were there was amazing. Haysung Korean Barbeque has a good reputation and is easy to see why, good service, good food, expensive though. Overall a great experience for a night out at Springvale with family...
