Bay One O One: A Mixed Bag with a Silver Lining Tucked away not far from the bustle of Melbourne, Bay One O One presents itself as an inviting locale for morning coffee lovers. The coffee, a robust Long Black, hit the mark pleasantly. For the breakfast aficionados, the Big Breakfast and smashed avocado proved to be satisfyingly flavorful, offering good value for the price. However, the service left much to be desired. The server’s arrogance cast a shadow over the experience, coupled with a lack of attention that led to noticeable slip-ups — such as 1. I was asked by the server how i would like my eggs. I told him scrambled. They were served poached. 2. I asked the server to not add bread to the order. The breakfast had bread in it. ( If order changes aren't permissible just say when I'm ordering). 3. The cup had traces of lipstick - an unsettling surprise on a supposedly clean coffee cup. While the lipstick issue was rectified upon request, first impressions count, and Bay One O One’s was tarnished by service that lacked the warmth and precision essential to a stellar café experience and left me questioning its level of hygiene. For those seeking a culinary refuge, there are myriad options where the welcome is as warm as the coffee and the servers pay attention to their customers. While Bay One O One delivered on taste, it stumbled on the hospitality front. A shift in staff attitude, an ear for customer preferences, and an eye for cleanliness could see this coffee shop blossom into a recommendable retreat. Until then, there are plenty of other choices for your caffeine and breakfast fixes.

Wonderful sitting outside on a warm evening with no ‘wind chill factor’, or inside in the cosy Restaurant. Just be prepared for a ‘Randoms’ in Bay Road, Port Melbourne, who pass by dishevelled/ extreme behaviour/ barefooted & half dressed; if you choose to sit outside- this has nothing to do with the Restaurant of course. The staff here are very attentive/ caring and offer the best service- asking if you would like more drinks/ brining out extra Parmesan cheese/ Chilli Oil & Chilli flakes. The Tortellini was recommended with Mushroom Sauce. For $40.77 in total with a Soy Fresh leaf Chai hot drink, I am of the opinion that the Tortellini could possibly be ‘more flavoursome’ in regards to the sauce. Mushrooms are quite bland, however, some slithers of Portobello Mushrooms & a deeper flavoured sauce, would then reach a 10/10 for me. I had to add way more Parmesan cheese & Chilli Oil to add to the bland sauce. My friend had the Vegetarian Gnocci which looked way ‘Richer’ and possibly more flavoursome. Will definitely go back. Great Restaurant/ Great Quality Staff.

We had intended to go for breakfast today but our baby’s nap routine turned that into lunch which is the pizza/pasta offering. The food came out swiftly which impressed but I didn’t appreciate the pips in all the orange pieces of my grilled calamari. The calamari was tender but on an a bed of incredibly salty rocket. They also attempted to charge us for 3 pizzas when 2 had been ordered and when questioned did not take our word for it and had to confirm with our wait staff. There was a 15% public holiday surcharge too which is somewhat expected. Points for having baby change tables, spacious seating and strong air conditioning given it was 37 degrees

Bay 101 in Port Melbourne exceeded our expectations in every way! As a family of four, we had a fantastic dining experience at this wonderful restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the service provided by our waiter, Giuliano, was impeccable.

We started off by ordering the Napoletana pizza and the meat lovers pizza, both of which were cooked to perfection. The crust was thin and crispy, while the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The highlight of our meal was definitely the lasagne. It was rich, hearty, and simply mouthwatering. We also tried the pappardelle duck ragu, which was served piping hot and bursting with delicious flavors.

What impressed us the most was the speed at which our food was served. Despite the restaurant being busy, our dishes arrived promptly, allowing us to enjoy our meal without any unnecessary wait time. The attentive and friendly staff made us feel welcomed and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout the evening.

Overall, our dining experience at Bay 101 was exceptional. The combination of delicious food, fast service, and a welcoming atmosphere made it a memorable evening for our family. If you're looking for a restaurant in Port Melbourne that offers both quality dishes and top-notch service, we highly recommend giving Bay...

Hi, I Love Food and I know Food... Today we had lunch here, the atmosphere and ambiance is very nice, staff is great and welcoming, we were attended straight away and girl who served us was wonderful. We ordered extra hot, strong cappuccino and hot chocolate and they came according to our liking and the way we ordered, which was great to see. Then we ordered Mexicana pizza, chips and bruschetta. Pizza was good but it lacked the amount Capsicum, usually in Mexicana pizzas that I've had at various restaurants the quantity of Capsicum in it is more, but the amount of hot salami they added, made up for it. Chips were good too, well seasoned and crispy. Bruschetta was nice. However, I prefer bruschetta to have a bit of a glaze and cut tomatoes rather than whole cherry tomatoes. Their previous recipe that they had for bruschetta couple of years ago was amazing, it used to come loaded with tomatoes, Buffalo cheese, a bit of onions and glaze. Well, the overall experience was great. If you live in or around Port Melbourne or if you are visiting that area of Melbourne, I recommend you should definitely give this...
