Hey Owners!!! We've been supporting your business since before Covid, with sushi bought weekly for our child, and my partners favourite two meals come from here. Suffice to say, we love your food... however, the value isn't there anymore. Whilst we understand price increases overtime, and the impact Covid had, we were happy to continue supporting the business... but, the portions have gone down, and not only that the ratio of sauces, rice etc. has also decreased so the flavours and consistency have changed. My partner asked for a little extra sauce to bring it to the same standard the meals used to be, she was charged an extra $3.50 via a notification through uber eats. She queried this to be told by staff that she is in fact lucky!! Because if she was to dine in, the extra squib of sauce would have been an extra $8... and the portion sizes had been adjusted to reflect the price increase... only to find once again the portion was even smaller than last time, with half the amount of rice. The portions certainly couldn't have gotten bigger as the container used to be full and are now half full. Such a shame that the locals that kept this business running are been unfairly overcharged for something as simple as a request for a little extra condiment. Not what you would expect from a local business in the hills, where we are community focused and helped to collectively support the business through hard times. It's pretty rude. Now I'm not usually one to write a big review and whinge over an extra dash of sauce, but this has been declining for years, and getting charged more for less and then more again just doesn't feel right. Maybe you guys will take this on and...
Read moreThis was honestly some of the worst take-away food I've eaten in a very long time, and by far the worst Japanese food I've ever eaten. My partner and I both ordered from the vegan menu. I ordered the udon noodle 'soup' (which was literally just a sticky clump of noodles with a bunch of soggy vegetable tempura slapped on top.. And by tempura, I mean it was literally tiny strings of carrot and a couple of green beans that had been deep fried in thick batter.. a bizarre addition to a liquid dish), and the upon soup was completely tasteless. My partner ordered the tofu don, which was literally just a bowl 3/4 filled with plain rice and 3 enormous squares of soggy battered tofu on top (again, no sauce, no vegetables and no flavour). Lastly, we ordered a serve of 2x cucumber avocado hand rolls, which were by far the most shocking aspect of the meal, given that both sushi rolls were completely broken apart and basically inside-out in the bag, and the rice was dry. We were almost repulsed by this food, and felt violated that we paid over $50 for...
Read moreI’ve been buying sushi from Mama Yama Sushi for a while now and am unfortunately seeing a consistent decline in the quality and quantity of their sushi’s. Each time I purchase sushi from Mama Yama the rolls are getting smaller and smaller which is not equivalent to the prices, this is really disappointing as this is the only sushi place in belgrave and I love supporting them but I’m definitely not receiving the correct services for what I am paying for unfortunately. I hope to see some improvements in the sushi roll making (not falling apart especially if it’s just been made) and understanding the quantity is not up to standard for the price you are charging. I’ve never had anyone sell me such tiny rolls of sushi for such a price. My sushi should not be one bite big. I hope some improvement starts to happen before others start to be dissatisfied as...
