Honey Thai — Restaurant in Melbourne

A couple of girlfriends and I met outside Honey Thai hoping to get a table without a booking. We were warmly welcomed and the staff were just wonderful with their hospitality, patience and attentiveness. Between us we ordered a seafood stir-fry, vegie and tofu stir-fry, green curry with veggies and tofu plus jasmine and coconut rice to share. The beverage menu is quite extensive so we enjoyed a variety of wines by the glass 🍷 Our meals arrived hot, fresh and beautifully presented on lovely dishes with great service from our wait staff.... ate more than I needed to but everything was so delicious! The food is great! But let down by a dirty hygiene. The bar shelf with thick dust, window sills with obvious dirt and other foreign objects, air conditioner with dust and spider webs, sticky floor and tables. Upon ordering i peered into the kitchen; an absolute mess including boxes and grimed surfaces. Menu was so bad with muck that a reach for the sanitiser was a must. This restaurant needs to be cleaned urgently.

While not thais that actually manage the place, they still produced great food, that’s the bizarre thing. Imagine if they just cleaned up.

Located in the Main Street of Belgrave with plenty of street parking, we walked in without a booking & were greeted & seated straight away. Clean & fresh looking with a hint of Thai, this restaurant didn’t disappoint. Great range to choose from on the menu, we ordered the satay chicken skewers, a duck curry & a red chicken curry - all packed with authentic Thai flavours, it was delicious.
