What a terrible experience. I’m not sure how this place could possibly get 5 stars and I’m sure they are all FAKE!
We dined here last night for Father’s Day. We arrived at 6pm and did not get our mains until 8.40pm. This is truly not acceptable. We asked many times when our food would come and we kept getting, oh a few minutes.
We were also served a wrong dish to our table and because my father in law didn’t know what we had ordered he started eating it. The waitress then said, “oh sorry, this is for the wrong table”. So instead of discarding the food, she took the food back into the kitchen, to come back and give it to the table that ordered it after it was already touched. We all saw it and could not believe that this happened.
Our meals came, some of the breads were not cooked and the taste was ok. But my appetite had already gone from waiting too long.
The owner was happy for us to pay the full bill without even attempting to offer us a discount or even free dessert for such terrible service. This was the least he could’ve done.
What really annoyed me was the chef coming out and asking us how the food was. We said it was good and she said ok please give me a 5 star review! I mean no apology for the wait but believing she deserves 5 star for food which made me very sick in the middle of the night. I believe some of the dishes weren’t cooked properly and rushed.
Clearly this business is about THEMSELVES and not the customers. Very unprofessional with yelling coming out of the kitchen also.
Would never come back and would not recommend anyone visit this place.
P.S: I don’t match the “database” because the booking was made under my husband’s name. Your response is unacceptable as we directly gave you feedback. Listen to...
Read moreDash and the team at spice mantra have me questioning two things: What is wrong with me for not coming here sooner? Why wouldn’t you support this for gorgeous local business when the food tastes this good and the service is impeccable?
Upon entry, you are treated like an old friend - this is what hospitality should be, inviting, and warm and. Make sure to take Dash’s advice of perfect pairings and dishes to try. I broke out of the stereotypical butter chicken and garlic bread naan, and we enjoyed some delicious meals!
Entrees were delightful. The samosas and lamb seekh kebabs were the perfect size and left you excited for what’s to come. Delicious flavours and presentation was beautiful.
There’s a large variety of vegetarian meals- even the pickiest eater among us had a hard time tossing up between the options! Her recommendation - the baingan ka bharta - was flavoursome and light. Listed as popular on the menu for a reason!
We enjoyed chicken korma and lamb dum biriyani, which, when paired with naan, left us full and happy. Beautiful taste and texture that left me wishing I had a third stomach to eat the whole menu!
Special note must be made of the laccha pratha - you would be doing yourself a disservice by not trying it!
We will definitely be back, whether it be for BYO with mates or grabbing some takeaway after a long day in the office.
For my bayside locals - support this gorgeous restaurant and prepare to be treated like royalty!! Dash -you are consumate professional and we cannot wait to dine...
Read moreSo glad we gave this place a go. I kept smelling yummy spices at school pick up time and was reminded to check it out.
It’s nice inside. Perhaps a little too close to the other tables but a bit up market and fresh and clean. Modern decor, good bar and the food was beautifully presented and tasty.
I was excited to have found a place I would like to keep going back to. The staff were friendly and attentive. The quality of the food was appropriate to the pricing. Maybe slightly small portions but the taste and quality was worth it compared to others I have tried.
We had the samosa chat appetiser. It was truely lovely. A great blend of textures and flavours. Light, fluffy and just a delight.
We went with lamb curries. A vindaloo and korma. The vindaloo was fantastic. Not too salty or bitter with little bursts of fresh herbs. We asked for medium but for a vindaloo it was more on the mild side. This was a bonus for me as my husband was the one wanting the increased spice. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The korma was not as sweet as I am used to and it packed a nice little punch. This worked really well along side the vindaloo. The meat was tender and flavourful. The flavours were infused into it.
The wine choices were good. We left with that nice warm fuzzy satisfied feeling of a satisfying experience. We...
