GRUMPY BY NAME, HAPPY BY NATURE, BAYSIDE’S NEW PLACE TO BE
SNAPPY GRUMP is open for business and I was excited to get in and taste the food after being in lockdown for a long time. I know the team from Brew Sisters know their coffee, and it is always great, so the test was brunch. Would Gaby and Flick deliver? Of course they would!
Before the food let’s talk about the place. The look is fabulous, simple but very effective and the special part of Snappy Grump is that you feel welcome because you are welcome. There is a genuine warmth in the greeting for every person that walks through the door. The service is always friendly and it feels comfy being here.
The menu, which is growing, has something for everyone and as we were eating for the first time we both chose to try the go to meals that we each love to set a standard. Ms T had the Smashed Bayside Avo which naturally features the avo and a poached egg which are accompanied by a medley of tomatoes, Persian feta, a balsamic glaze and house made dukkah. I am assured it met the standard, it looked great, and tasted even better. I was less adventurous but it was about favourites, scrambled eggs, house made baked beans, haloumi and a hash brown. The beans are delicious and all round the meal was great. I look forward to trying things like the zucchini fritters, the breaky roll and more in the future.
It’s worth checking out the menu and noting just how many house made items are part of the fare. The team add their own touch to much of what they do. Better still get down to 511 Hampton Street Hampton, relax, have a cuppa and enjoy brunch. We will be back very soon. I have a...
Read moreAs I walked into Snappy Grump Cafe, I was immediately greeted by a burst of pink funky decor and an array of vibrant plants. Despite the quirky name, the atmosphere was anything but grumpy. It felt like stepping into a whimsical oasis where every corner was adorned with playful hues and lush greenery.
The Joyful Menu: The menu at Snappy Grump Cafe mirrored the lively ambiance perfectly. I opted for the "Turkish eggs" with a side of bacon... and boy-oh-boy was it a flavour-packed delight! And let's not overlook the "Happiness in a Cup," which in my case was the almond latte—an energising fusion of aromatic coffee that left me feeling revitalised and ready to tackle the day. Oh, and to top it off, it even came with a tiny teddy on the side, adding an extra touch of charm to an already delightful experience.
Service with a Smile (and a Dash of Sass): Despite the vibrant decor and playful ambiance, the real highlight of Snappy Grump Cafe was the staff. From the moment I walked in, they greeted me with warm smiles and friendly banter. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it was clear that they were passionate about making every customer feel welcome. And while they may have cracked a few jokes along the way, their genuine kindness shone through.
In Conclusion: If you're in need of a pick-me-up, look no further than Snappy Grump Cafe. With its colourful decor, fresh fare, and friendly staff, it's the perfect place to brighten your day. So don't let the name fool you—give them a visit and prepare to be...
Read moreI’m a regular customer and have always enjoyed the quality and taste of your coffee. However, during my recent visit, I noticed that the taste of my latte was quite different from usual.
The coffee and milk were completely blended together, with no visible layering, and the overall flavor was noticeably weaker. It felt like there was too much milk and not enough coffee, making the drink taste diluted. Additionally, the small teddy cookie that usually comes with the drink was missing, which is a small but memorable detail I’ve always appreciated.
I understand there may have been a change in staff, but I kindly ask that the quality be checked before serving to ensure consistency with the great standard I’ve come to love from your cafe.
Thank you for your attention and for taking pride in...
