I was excited to try your restaurant in Hampton as a well long due date night with my husband. Having tried other japanese all-you-can eat. I am extremely disappointed with my experience as follow:
Decor: This place seriously needs an update. The place was dingy! Seating and carpet was soo worn and looked dirty!
Food: Everything was TOO SAUCY! too much sauce in the soba noodles, too much miso on the steak - and it was basically cooked steak with sauce lathered on top. Too much sauce in the mushroom, salad (and this was premade too). The steak was definitely frozen meat with maybe a of bicarb in it to make the meat seem soft and bouncy. It was also disappointing to not being able to just order sashimi and had to get the platter which contained rice (when i'm at a buffet, i would want to avoid rice) so i ended up not ordering more of this, the nigiri was definitely not Japanese style, the rice was soggy and clumpy!
Service: food came out quick, however we had dishes served to us "stacked up", plate over another plate - it wasn't even placed on the table in a dinner setting. I seriously felt like I was in a foodcourt - but 100x worse.
For the first time in ages, i really felt like my money went down the drain. The most satisfying dish there was the green...
Read moreWow, what can I say. I have been coming to this restaurant since 2014 and unfortunately due to the many changes and decrease in quality, i don't believe i will be returning.
First the change in ordering, now having to order everything on your phone. We did so and waited 25 MINUTES for a dish to come and when it did, so did every other dish so there was no space. Due to this, we couldn't order as much as it took too long to come. The plates were stacked on top of each other with the bottom of the plates touching the food we were served. The customer service was shocking, I had never experienced something like that at the restaurant before and don't know if its a new owner or management but everything has just gone down. The ice cream used to be delicious (specifically green tea) but now they give you packaged ice cream that tastes disgusting and old. The worst part is with all this decrease in customer service, food and experience, the one thing that keeps increasing is the price. If you loved this place and haven't come back in a while, don't expect the same experience at all. I would recommend choosing a different all you can...
Read moreMy wife and I have been coming to Hampton Okami ever since it was the original one and have always enjoyed our all you can eat experience unfortunately we went for lunch today and we left a little dissapointed. They usually have some background music on for some atmosphere but today it was off and it was a a really poor feeling. Also it wasn't busy but they cramped the people that were there into 1 section all sitting so close to each other it was quite uncomfortable. They also have a new ordering system on a QR code that we didn't really like and prefer the menu and service option. The program they use needs an upgrade because we selected a few items then went to confirm and the whole order disappeared and had to redo. The people next to us thought they ordered only to find after sitting there for 20 minutes with nothing coming to the table their order didn't go through, very frustrating. One last thing the food was yummy but slower than usual service probably because time of year but the lady that did meet and greet us and served us had little personality and seemed annoyed the whole time. Usually the staff...
