The worst experience ever! And I eat out at least 3 times a week. Let me tell you my story as never usually complain even if bsd service as just don't go back .
Went there sunday night. 3 assume indian waiters that I could not understand served us but that was Ok as we worked it out after several attempts. Ordered 2 vodka martinis. They came back after 20 minutes with one only weird looking milk drink in a vodka type glass. Asked what it was and they explained that they werent sure themselves as the bartender left for the day and they just made someting up. Ok after several attempts to explain what it was and asked tbem to look it up as just a basic vodke martini we finally gave up and decided to go for a simple vodka lime and soda. It came in a massive soda glass that kids use for milkshakes!! Needless it say it just tasted water as about half a litre in each glass. Sent it back twice as they just couldn't understand what a normal glass was and settled for 2 glasses of wine which didnt require any basic skills or so I thought. Yep you guessed it spilt it again! Now for the so called food Ordered a few of starters. Bread finally came with a blunt knife but ok as just broke it up with hands.
When the starters arrived they spilt almost every dish on the paper tablecloth and walked away foforgetting any utensils to even eat it with. After several minutes and requests in plain English they finally realised and apologized and gave them to us. The main meal arrived and I could not believe my eyes as they just plonked it on the table without taking the dirty dishes away (which there were several) and even cleaning their mess from delivering the starters and having a table full of dirty dishes with our main meal. It gets better as once again no new utensils to even eat it with once again!! Asked them to remove the dirty dishes so we could eat which they finally did but still left the table in an absolute mess from their previous spills and still forgot the utensils once again!!
Walked out as worst experience and complete armature mess I have ever...
Read moreI had very limited options when looking for a nice authentic Italian restaurant to take my new girlfriend to on a Sunday night in October. Not much was open. So, I stumbled across Botticelli Ristorante and Bar on the web. The chef and owner Salvatore suggesting his decades of experience in some of the finest restaurants in Europe would deliver that culinary experience based on his vision. Ok, big statements but I like confidence from a chef. So, quietly nestled in the heart of Brighton, Botticelli Ristorante is a charming Italian restaurant. From the moment you step inside, the warm ambiance and the kitchen cooking aroma purveys the air to welcome you. The interior is tastefully decorated with wood paneling and pictures that conjure a feel that is far removed from central Brighton in Australia to something more European. The menu at Botticelli offers a delightful selection of traditional Italian dishes crafted with obvious care and passion. We watched some dishes being sent to their tables and the preparation is careful and visually appealing. Our pastas were delivered quite quickly to our table and were both of a high standard with quality ingredients. You can see the attention to detail and the flavours were deep, rich, not bland and certainly authentic to true Italian. Not a big desert lover, my girlfriend and I decide on the tiramisu to complete our dinner. Light and airy and not overpowering with just the right hint of espresso and cocoa, it was the perfect ending to a memorable meal and day. The only comment I would make would be around the table service. For such a quality venue, I was expecting more waiter table attention which we both found to be lacking. We both had to work to get the attention of the wait staff to get served over the evening. Whilst I make this comment, this certainly did not detract from the whole dining experience and we both would rate Botticelli highly. So much so, that we will both be back again to choose something different from this enticing menu....
Read moreWhat began as a lovely evening, quickly turned into such a horrible experience all because of one staff member... The MANAGER!! clearly you are unable to find someone who is fit for this role and that is really really sad because your wait staff are soooo lovely and the food was great!! Unfortunately within five minutes of our main dishes being cleared from the table and us advising we didn't want any dessert this evening your manager Martina brought the bill straight over and rudely advised we needed to go as the next reservation had arrived!! Firstly, our 2 hours were not up. We had only just hit 90 minutes and my drink was only half empty. Secondly the restaurant was not even at 50% capacity, with nobody waiting for a table. This absolutely ruined our night and it's a real shame as her whole attitude and lack of professionalism or tact left such a damper on the entire experience. Your wait staff tried to advise that we could stay a little longer but honestly at this point we couldn't pay and get out of there fast enough. (Funny how all of a sudden the next reservation was no longer waiting for our table) We will never be returning. Please do yourselves a favour and keep Martina at back of house where she won't be ruining your customers night. To anyone thinking of coming here.... Don't!!! There are plenty of other restaurants who value their clientele and don't rush them out the door half an hour before the allocated...
