Visited Middle Brighton Beach and absolutely loved the experience! The colourful cottages — known as the Brighton Bathing Boxes — are truly iconic and make this place one of the most photogenic spots in Melbourne. Each hut has its own unique design and vibrant colour, creating a perfect backdrop for photos, especially around sunrise or sunset.

The beach itself is clean, calm, and great for a relaxing stroll or quiet time by the water. It’s much less crowded compared to other beaches closer to the city, and the scenic coastal walk along the shore adds to the charm.

Parking can be a bit tricky on weekends, and there’s a paid parking area nearby, so it’s best to arrive early. The bathing boxes don’t have any facilities inside (no water or electricity), and there are limited food options nearby, but you’ll find some nice cafés a short walk away.

Middle Brighton Beach est l’une des plages les plus agréables et emblématiques de Melbourne, parfaite pour se détendre à quelques minutes du centre-ville.

La plage est propre, bien entretenue et bordée des fameuses cabines colorées de Brighton, qui ajoutent une touche pittoresque et incontournable pour les photos. Le sable est doux, et l’eau, calme la plupart du temps, invite à la baignade ou à la promenade les pieds dans l’eau.

La jetée est idéale pour prendre un peu de hauteur, admirer la baie de Port Phillip et profiter d’un coucher de soleil magnifique sur la ville. L’ambiance est paisible, familiale et très appréciée des locaux comme des visiteurs.

The beach is clean, well-kept, and lined with the famous Brighton Bathing Boxes — colorful beach huts that make for picture-perfect moments. The sand is soft, and the usually calm waters are inviting for swimming or simply strolling barefoot.

The pier is great for a higher vantage point, to take in Port Phillip Bay and enjoy a stunning sunset over the city. The vibe is peaceful, family-friendly, and loved by both locals and visitors.

The walk from the nearest available car park when we visited in Jan-23 was located more than 10mins walk away.
