The idea is fantastic however it doesn't play out in real life. With a look that reminds you of the American Diners (similar to Arnolds in the TV show "Happy Days") the atmosphere is one that a lot of younger adults (mid teens to early 20's) would fit into well. Although not a large amount of seating, there are both indoor & outdoor tables which are designed to seat slightly larger groups (4-6 people) if desired. The bright colour palette of the interior gives it a more energised feel, and this, in my opinion, encourages people to not want to hang around for too long once they have finished eating.
The menu itself looked quite interesting. The burgers all had quirky names about them, and from the pictures looked amazing with descriptions that seemed to match. The prices however were very high, So I really thought that the meal that was going to come out would be very impressive. Unfortunately our dining experience there was not along those lines at all and something I wouldn't bother repeating.
The customer service was not anything to really be impressed by. To place your order, that you needed to walk up to the counter, & when we did the staff member who took our order looked as if she'd rather be anywhere but there, and when asked questions in regards the menu was not very helpful with answers. We were just a party of two people and after placing our order and going to sit down, We looked over the receipt and realised that she was missing one complete meal out of the two. When returning to correct this, she didn't even acknowledge the mistake that was made, & made a big fuss about not being able to have both meals come out together as they had been placed at different times (we're talking barely a couple of minutes here) It was only when looking at the receipt that we realised exactly how much this meal had cost and when we saw the breakdown of each item (the burgers were around $20 each, & drinks &/or chips on the side had to be ordered separately as no "meal combination" was offered) we came the conclusion that it appeared to be well and truly overpriced. We did however decide to keep an open mind about this as the looks of the burgers in the photograph of the menu still gave us hope that it might be worth that amount.
When the meals were delivered unfortunately our initial reaction to the price appeared true. We ordered a large chips to share which for the $10 that it cost was worth about 50 cents each, and the only thing that really made these tips fancy was the light sprinkling of rosemary herb and sea salt. The burgers themselves were a decent size however that really was about the only impressive thing about them. Both the beef and the chicken burgers that we ordered were undercooked and we're not quite in line with the photos or descriptions the menu had offered. If you wanted condiments for your meal, you had to walk to the back of the venue and help yourself to the bottles that were lined up there. Also the staff member who delivered our orders again didn't seem to want to be working there and just dumped them on the table and walked away.
Although we were both hungry upon entering the venue, and left feeling almost the same way. The food really was not edible, and we both left plates full of food as our burgers were not worth even trying to consume. What we thought would have been an enjoyable experience ended up being an extremely expensive lesson learnt, was a real letdown, and definitely will not be a place that we will return to. It was a real shame as the initial look of the place really got my hopes up thinking it would be a lot different to what...
Read moreCame up from Lara and were super excited to finally come check out burger road!
As soon as we walked in, the vibe of the place was amazing!
Staff was super friendly upon entry and sat us down right away.
We placed our order and did not have to wait long for our glorious burgers to come out
The sweet potato fries were the best I’d had and my burger (hen’ifer Lopez) looked amazing, and it tasted just as great as it looked! Paired with a golden gaytime thick shake, oooffft, so good!
The food was amazing, but, the best part was definitely the staff
During the meal, you just get the sense that it’s a fun place to be!
The staff were singing along to a great playlist they had running, smiles on their faces, even busted out some dance moves!
The cherry on top was (not sure if it was the manager or owner) came up for a chat and just told us about how much joy her and the rest of the staff feel when they see people eating their food with big smiles on their faces!
11/10, highly recommend Burger...
Read moreMy husband and I came in this evening to pick up an order which we had placed online, for a lovely Valentines dinner at the beach! Firstly, i would like to say that your website is awesome, asethically pleasing and super easy using the online ordering function. When we arrived the restaurant was clean and warm giving a great welcoming feeling to all who entered. But the big 5 stars went to the food. The food was beyond mouth watering and delicious! We ordered the x2 burgers, Chili fries and wings and honestly we were over the moon with every item! The drive to the beach was a good 10 min one and the food was still very hot, well packaged with stunning presentation! We love supporting small business, especially the ones that we can see go above and beyond for their customers. Big thanks to the team Burger Road team who were efficient, friendly and enabled my husband and I to have an awesome Valentines day dinner! Well done guys, we'll def be back and...
