So last night we ordered food from here, first order wasn't taken properly. at the time of the pick up, dal makhani was missing from it. so it took another 10 mins for them to cook and on the other side my rest of the food was getting cold. Upon reach home we were straight to have the food and we realized 1)Dal mkahni was very runny and missing the peculiar taste of it. 2)Tandoori Chicken was microwave cooked in the end missing juices of it. 3) Menu says Saag paneer, but it was cooked out of spinach not saag, i dont understand what is the shame in writing palak paneeer when you actually don't have saag.
We ordered garlic naan but again order was not taken properly and we were given plain naan as they were not paying attention. Upon calling back to the restaurant, the person said "very casually sorry about that, come back and we will change it." My rest of food is on the plate and I should be going 10km back to get the naan replaced. Instead of reversing the amount he suggested it can be adjusted next time, LOL. You guys are paying attention while taking order and you gonna remember next time, thats a joke.
Anyways, the food used to be good at this place, but since the unprofessional kids of the owner have started working there, the service is on the downward trend. I hospitality paying attention n service is the key otherwise food is more or less same everywhere.
Thanks for ruining our night, our bin was more full than...
Read moreOur first experience at Curry Guru was actually really good. It was mid week and around lunch time, and we found the food to be really good and the service to be excellent. Unfortunately, this time around they were much worse. Being a saturday night I can understand them being understaffed due to the current economic climate, but as dine in customers we had to wait over an hour for our meal, whilst people ordering take away were getting their meals in 15 minutes. We were not told when we sat down to expect such a lengthy delay, and upon complaining, we were treated quite rudely by the staff. The food was good, but not as good as the last time we were there. Also, they do not have air conditioning in their restaurant, and having to wait for our meals for over an hour in a stuffy dining room was not a pleasant experience. My partner also found two squashed cockroaches and a dead spider in the male toilet, and the male toilets had run out of toilet paper and soap. The experience was really sour and I believe if Curry Guru prioritised their dine in customers over their take out orders this whole experience could have been avoided. Considering that Crown of India and Indian Roast are very close by and provide much better service, a much better environment and only at a slight increase in price, I think Curry Guru really need to pick up their game or they may rapidly find themselves getting more...
Read moreAround 5 years ago, my self and work mates were very much let down by the Curry Guru, we had ordered the night before for lunch for our work place for around 15 people. They failed to deliver on time and as you can imagine at work, it needs to be on time. :( Not sure if they have gone under new management, but when I found they were the only Indian open when we had gone to our favourite they were open and I reluctantly took my family their. We all loved their dishes! Again last night I got take away as my wife wanted noodles, and i had planned to get a kebab. the Kebab shop was closed and I thought to try the Curry Guru, the smell from out side was inviting. :) my wife mocked me that I had bought a curry and it was expensive at $16. Her noodle dish was only $11. However she did not mind sharing the garlic nan and was soon put in her place when I enjoyed the left overs of the rice and Lamb Kashmiri - Lamb cooked in Fennel and yoghurt gravy. The plentiful portions were enough for two meals. Which equals $8 V's $11. Will certainly be back for either take away or eat in. I highly recommend the Lamb Kashmiri, not one I have seen at other Indian restaurants. It goes well with eating your food with a nan bread to...
