Carlisle Seafood — Restaurant in Melbourne

This shop actually sells fresh fish and does fish n chips capitalising on the fact that sell fresh fish. I was lucky years ago that through work at the time that a friend took me there with the line that I would not be disappointed, and he was right. 30 years later and guess what if I'm in the area I will drop in and grab something to eat. And while the health nazis those who tell you what is bad one week can be good the next in moderation of course will scream unhealthy I say more for me. The people who run run the place now have kept the original owner tradition of serving quality food. I would always go to the fish n chip's store and how lucky are the locals, to get a burger and chips especially if it's open rather than the other store down the road that the pattie looks like they just added water and stirred it to become what it is lol did I say that out loud. Just kidding both stores serve their purpose, but the fish n chips one serves a higher purpose. I can't say that I've seen it not having 3 or 4 customers waiting so that fact alone goes to show you why people still go to the local fish n chip's store. And still it the best take away food as far as money value goes. This is to the lucky residents of the area keep supporting the store and it will be there forever. It's not a easy job it's extremely hot n summer and I'm sure that fish n chips smell would be hard to get off at least winter you only have to put up with the smell of fish on you and hard work. And a big thanks to the staff that work there. And to the people who visit the area for the nightlife nothing tastes better after a few drinks especially if you want to continue drinking than a real burger 😝 Keep those stores...

Dishonest / false advertising for their fish burger deal?? they have a $10 fish burger deal at the entrance of their shop when youa ask for a fish burger, the server charged $15 dollars when asked why is there a price difference server said "if people don't specify that they want the $10 burger deal, we don't give them the special" also said the $10 "fish burger" doesn't have "real fish" but the $15 fish burger does?

... People just be weary of the advertised deals. Its just unfair to be wrongfully charged or not get what you paid for because of a undisclosed "loophole" of not asking for the "fish burger deal" OR ordering a fish burger that doesn't use real fish?? How are customers supposed to know this?? Very strange.

Until today this was my go to takeaway for the last 5 years. Old school, delicious, well priced and good servings. My favourite was the hamburger pack, which came with burger with the lot (sadly no beetroot or pineapple) but the taste made up for this, chips and a drink. Great value. Last year cost was $16.50, then went up to $18 when I was there last in Dec 23. Went in today and it’s gone up to $22!!! I paid for my last hamburger pack in shock, and won’t be returning again. You can go to a pub for the same price and sit down at a venue with cutlery, and atmosphere. This price from a local takeaway? Ridiculous. This can’t be blamed on inflation. And I doubt the staff have been given a 28% pay increase. My family and I won’t be returning....
