Centreview Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

My husband, son, his partner and I have attended this cafe 3 tines now, most recently today (Mother's Day). What we all like about this cafe is the simple, unpretentious food along with the friendly service. I usually just have coffee, but the men always have a meal. The pancakes are generous in size with plenty of icecream, maple syrup and cream. The bacon and egg muffin costs less than the McDonalds version and is twice the size and tasted great according to my son. We are all fussy about coffee and have never been disappointed here. Our server today was a lady with short blond hair.She has served us before and is really lovely. This is a busy cafe, but service is quick with meals on the table within 10 minutes. I have been going to Centreview Cafe for 10 years, and for 10 years I have enjoyed the same great iced coffee with fresh cream. I love their all day breakfast (it's great value, always hot, always tasty) and get that regularly. The warm chicken salad is also awesome. I don't know about the other meals as I am gluten intolerant. I have enjoyed fairly good service there, especially from the waitress Pauline who always greets you with a smile. Wish I could give a 0 star. Please do not ever go to this coffee shop. There’s a better one downstairs. The owner is extremely rude and a racist. Ordered a long black and asked for an extra cup since the coffee was too hot. His reply “I have to charge you 80c for a cup but here’s tissue paper that’s free”. Went downstairs to another coffee shop for a cup and they gave it, even without purchasing anything from there.

Hope this guy learns some customer service. Not to mention for a long black it was pretty much just boiling water. Atleast get a coffee made right!! Avoid this place at all costs. Worst ever in...
