Sat down at 6.15pm and still waiting for two bentos set at 7.25pm. A lot of unhappy customers around us are also waiting and questioning what’s going on with their orders. Informed staff twice that it’s taking too long a wait but was told “soon soon”, “soon soon” “sorry sorry”, “5 min” (that’s 5 min ago and still waiting. More waiters on the floor (may be only 1 chef in kitchen working like a crazy octopus) busy going from table to table refilling the cups of frustrated customers. I think by the time the bentos are finally here, we would be full from drinking all the non-stop plain water refills! 7.30pm...still waiting! Customer service almost non-existence — if serving time is expected to be longer than usual for whatsoever reason, at least have some respect for and courtesy to your patrons by letting them know about the delay or offer the option to change the order, and not going about acting busy or like headless chooks refilling cups. When you are spending more time waiting for the food (like an idiot not knowing what’s the exceptional long wait is for) than to enjoy it, regardless how reasonable the pricing and food are, that’s a terrible restaurant experience and whatever being served is already a disappointment. No nihon-jin (Japanese people) here mate, more like China-Chinese buying business...

I visited Fukutontei in Greensborough for the first time, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. The ramen didn’t taste great and actually made me feel sick afterward. The eggs were blue and clearly old and rotton which made my appetite dissapear. The water also didn’t taste fresh and tasted old and electric, while I understand it was tap water, it would have been better if it was chilled and fresher from the tap. The broth in the soup had an unpleasant, overly fatty taste that made the meal even less enjoyable. Overall, my experience at Fukutontei Greensborough wasn’t a good one. I wish I could rate this 0 since it doesn't even deserve the 1 star rating. The server didn't even greet me nor ask if I want to order. While she was talking i saw a specimen from her mouth come into my food. When I asked for a replacement she refused rudely and made me pay extra. The food was old, rotton and expired and I will never reccomend this place to anyone as it was my first and definitely last time coming to...

This is a harsh rating on food for a reason. 3 out of 6 dishes ordered were not great. The Gluten free rice dish was not great. The Tofu used is very ordinary in that rice dish. May be ok in a curry, but in a rice dish, it adds nothing. It was inedible. Korage 09 on the menu was great and looked so. Plenty of Fried chicken in that dish. Gyoza soup was great along with Yakatori. We then get to the dish that was the disater. 04 Spicy Miso Ramen. If thast looks anything like the photo on the menu, I must be insane. I got two pieces of pork that were tiny compared to my previous experienece, and the chicken was at least 1/4 of the picture depicted. It did taste good because it is a soup based dish and I know the flavour is there. Please do not let the chefs or greed get in the way. Ex chef posting the message. Greedy owners think all is ok until it is not. I will try again. Maybe it was a bad night for the person who decided...

I’m not sure if the waitress knows how to work in hospitality. She was rude and completely dismissive of the subpar food I received. I know that dishes don’t look like the photo, but when the egg omelet I ordered comes as a soup, that’s when I have a problem. No where in the menu does it say the dish I ordered comes as a gravy or in a broth, it says it is pork loin with egg and onion. I am also never the person to send food back, but this was beyond ridiculous. I told the waitress that my food was nowhere near what it looks like in the picture, and she said it was a gravy and that’s that. I repeatedly told her that the image has NO liquid, and was an omelette. I then asked for the same dish; but how it’s actually meant to be, not a soup. If I wanted a soup- I would have ordered a soup. She refused, and I had to eat this crap thing for $18. A waste of my money and a waste of my time. Won’t be coming back.

Ordered the Paiku Ramen and Aso Volcano Ramen—both portions were quite large. The tonkotsu broth was decent, though it might feel a bit salty for those not used to Japanese ramen. The noodles were firm and springy, and the marinated soft-boiled egg was flavorful. The Paiku Ramen came with three big pieces of soft-boned pork, which were tender and juicy. The Aso Volcano Ramen had a dollop of chili paste, adding a spicy kick to the rich broth. Considering the current trend where even an ordinary brunch costs over 20+, the pricing here is very reasonable. The rice dishes at other tables looked great too—definitely something I’d like to try next time.

Great menu, bad food. The ramen we ordered came boiling hot. The noodles were low quality store bought, the egg over-cooked and the soup salty and lacking the pork flavour it should have. 0/5 Gyozas were mediocre. 1 of them had large a chunk of ginger in them ruining the flavour. 2/5 Spicy sliced pork with rice was tasty and checked all the boxes. However the chili it came with was overly spicy. I think staff should notify customers when they place their order about the spiciness but thankfully I was able to remove it otherwise. 4/5 Staff whilst friendly, did not understand English and it was hard to communicate. 1/5 Will not return .
