Initially gave this restaurant 5 stars. It has been amended to 0 if I could. As a regular customer I found a hair in my hash potato. Upon showing the waiter he responded with "yuk disgusting" then watched the manager and waiter look at the hair on the full plate of food. Short and curly is the only description i have for it. Went to the register and was greeted by a lovely lady holding her baby. She gave my husband and I the bill to which I explained I had not eaten my breaky as there was a hair in my food. She seemed to be alarmed and reluctantly offered to take a coffee off the bill. While this was all happening I could see the manager who was made aware of the situation hanging around us. After he could hear me express my concerns to the lovely lady with the baby at the register he appeared and asked "what was the problem" I then again reminded him of the hair. He replied " that it wasn't a hair it was a garnish". I questioned him and asked " why didn't he approach us and explain or show me this so called garnish that was inside my hash potato?" He said that the waiter did. No one came back to our table. I was totally appalled with this behavior. It was a hair. Not a garnish. If that's the garnish they are using stand clear of this place. I eat out regularly and hardly ever write negative reviews like this however the behavior of the manager was awful. I actually walked out and left my husband to pay. My husband explained that after I walked out, he continued to say it wasn't a hair and that his staff were young and inexperienced. That kind waiter was pleasant and had enough experience...

The new owners have taken this place to a whole new level over the last 18 months, and are just nothing short of lovely! We eat there once or twice a week, and we are greeted with a smile every time. Dog friendly outside, and kid friendly all throughout, and with awesome little outdoor area too. Food is delicious, well priced, and the coffee is brilliant! Staff go out of their way to make sure we have an incredible experience every time. We always have a good chat with them! Highly recommended, so get in there and support local everyone! No one is doing it harder than hospitality, and this place is fast becoming an icon of Essendon. Let's keep it that way. Get in there...
Read moreThis doesn’t do it for me. It has the right idea in terms of a “standard trendy Melbourne café” menu but the taste is a little less wow than I would like. It’s not bad, just not that good.
The drinks are great.
No halal food when I last checked so keep that in mind if that’s a factor for you.
Parking can be a bit tricky and you may need to walk for a few minutes. Whatever you do, don’t make the mistake of using the McDonalds car park across the road. That’s more strictly monitored now (for use by non-McDonalds customers) and I think it’s a $200 fine or something so not worth the risk.
Accessible by public transport and not too far away from the Keilor Road end that meets Mount Road, so If you’re not travelling along Keilor Road, you can get here from the Calder (Bulla Road exit) or north on Mount...
