Dumplings Delight (Essendon) — Restaurant in Melbourne

The Xiao Long Bao (XLB) was a real disappointment, 6/6 pieces had a hole in them and all the juice were gone. What we received is 6 dried pieces of dumpling as if they were left-over. I don’t know if this is because it is takeaway (highly unlikely) or your Chef just really don’t care and have no respect for the customers. Definitely took the crown of being the worst XLB we have tried in 10 years living in Australia. If I can give you negative score, I would!

Edit (response to the owner): We're glad to see that your chef put in 100% into the dumplings. In any case, this is a feedback from an authentic customer (check your order logs - we had this delivered but clearly you have your assumptions) so feel free to ignore it or use this as an opportunity to improve (clearly labeling reviews you may not like as fake is not going to help your business).

We dined in recently and enjoyed the fantastic service at Dumpings Delight. They have a small dine-in area (seats about 14?) which can be busy with people collecting their orders but was wonderfully clean with relaxing music playing. We were impressed with how welcoming and attentive the staff were! The dumplings we ordered were generous and flavourful and the stir fried veggies were deliciously garlic-y.

We returned tonight for takeaway and were pleased with the fast service and were again greeted with a welcoming smile. You can tell that this restaurant uses quality ingredients - the beef in my stirfry was melt-in-your-mouth and the pork buns were top tier!

The menu allows for easy navigation of different dietary requirements with lots of vegan options.

My favourite Chinese food in the north!

This is the best little hole in the wall spot. Food is always fresh and flavoursome.

The prawn and chive dumplings are my favourite! They are delicate and juicy, my only criticism is that they don't come in a bigger serving, you can only get them in 4 while I'd like them in a pack of 12.

The veggie fried rice is awesome, so are any of the strikers tied dishes! I can also never go past the Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce!
