First impressions: Staff was quick to greet and very friendly. They escorted me to a table outside bought me some water and a menu. Decided I'm going to try the B.L.A.T.E
Decor and ambience
Inside was very well lit, welcoming and rather pretty, shop was warm and created a rather balanced ambience. Outside seating is available and plenty. Seating throughout cafe with plenty available.
FOOD and Drink Besides the ready made food such as Crossiants, focaccias and toasties there was a very good menu selection
What I ordered: White chocolate mocha.
Coffee was nice and hot, beans did feel like they were a little to coarse for my taste. However it was still a good coffee overall. I ordered a second
B.L.A.T.E EXTRA HASH BROWN AND BACON
Burger well was well balanced with all flavours, avocado was ripe, tomato's were well evened and fresh, lettuce and egg was a great combination of savoury and fresh, made you feel healthy over feeling greasy and lethargic which is a great change to most breakfast burgers. Well done team
HASH BROWNS
Full, fluffy and seasoned very well, bit of a different shape to the standard hash brown. However I'm understanding there is a potato shortage at the moment. Still flavour was great.
Bacon side.
Bacon was cooked very well. Soft, delicious and not too greasy.
Staff interactions.
Staff was very attentive to everyone's table, making sure water was always served, making sure to give them adequate time to look over the menu and asking for their coffee and drink orders upon sitting at their table. Coming back to check how the food was after some time and not making you feel pressured to wrap up.

Read moreSo very disappointed!! We come to chatterbox once a week and today I had lunch and halfway through found a piece plastic in my parmigiana. I let the waitress know I found it in my food. She did the right thing and took it away for me. She returned a few minutes later with my half eaten Parma telling me that it was a piece of onion skin that didn’t breakdown properly in the Napoli sauce. Normally I wouldn’t say anything but I’m an Italian chef I’ve cooked so many Napoli sauce in my life and never had this problem ever!! This was clearly was not a piece of onion, it was transparent like plastic and my knife didn’t cut through it at all and you could clearly see that it was plastic!! They expected me to then eat the rest of my Parma. I politely said “no thanks “. I had by then been totally been turned off my food. It’s not about the money I’m happy to pay for my food as I did. I paid full price for my half eaten parmigiana that had plastic in it. When asked how my meal was and I had explained how I was disappointed in my meal and finding the plastic in my meal they replied with I’m so sorry to hear that and still charged me full price not taking any acknowledgement of what happened. That is my My disappointment!! Won’t be going...
Read moreCame in with a mate to order lunch after a change of lunch plans. Ordered a large milkshake and parmi. $37 all up is a touch expensive, but at least the quality of the food was nice. The shake? It was meant to be caramel, but tasted the faintest bit of such, waste of my $10 spent on that. Atmosphere was great, staffed mostly stayed away to do their own thing (work and slack). Went to pay my $37 bill plus the $3.7 slapped on for just being there on the weekend. At least they admit this one. Put $40.70 on my card, and went to tap. Didn't work, so tried twice more. Nothing to say my card was being declined due to a hidden surcharge (something like ~1.65%), as the card thingy had $40.70 typed in, showed me $40.70, but declined a card with $40.70.. Then after I put extra money on the card and saw I was slogged with an unannounced surcharge, I questioned them about it and all of a sudden they need 6 staff to gaslight me that extra was the 10% weekend surcharge and how I'm in the wrong for using card over cash. Also the online menu is out of date. Tl;dr: food is alright but they will lie to you about costs and hide hidden...
