âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ Hands down the best cheesecakes in Werribee â maybe even Melbourne! Weâve been eagerly wanting to try Karomi Desserts, and wow⌠they did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the service, the atmosphere, and of course, the cheesecakes were all absolutely spectacular. Iâm not sure if it was the rainy day or the quiet Melbourne Cup public holiday vibe, but the whole experience was just perfect. Itâs not trying to be luxury dining, but for a cheesecake shop in Werribee, itâs ridiculously outstanding! We ordered two cheesecakes â the San SebastiĂĄn Crème BrĂťlĂŠe Cheesecake and the San SebastiĂĄn Ube Cheesecake â and both were heavenly. The Crème BrĂťlĂŠe Cheesecake was easily one of the best cheesecakes Iâve ever had. It was incredibly creamy, soft, and gooey in the centre â it just melts in your mouth. The torched sugar layer on top added that perfect caramelized crunch that tied everything together. My partner and I couldnât get enough â itâs easily the star of their menu. Then there was the San SebastiĂĄn Ube Cheesecake. We took a bit of a gamble with this one since we hadnât seen anything like it before, but it was 100% worth it. The creamy ube frosting on top added such a rich and unique flavour that blended perfectly with Karomiâs signature soft, gooey cheesecake centre. Total game changer! I just wish they had more locations because Iâd definitely travel 30â40 minutes for these cheesecakes again. Any further might be pushing it, but itâs absolutely worth the drive if youâre nearby. We went for my birthday, and it couldnât have been a better choice. Every bite was divine, the service was warm and welcoming (special shoutout to Mush â you were sensational!), and overall, it was an experience to remember. 5/5 â So delicious, so creamy, and absolutely...
Read moreUse to love this place until today. I've had these cakes about half a dozen times before and always had the Tiramisu flavoured slice. Absolutely magnificent. Today I asked for another flavour without nuts as I have a nut allergy. I was then asked lots of questions about my allergy like which nuts and do I have an epipen. I was told that I wouldn't be served because of it. Strange, as I explained that traces of nuts are ok and that I have had the Tiramisu at least 3 times before with no problems. "I don't want to get sued " I was told by the young kid. So I guess the young kid knows better than my Allergist and knows my body better than me. I am shocked that I was turned away and now they missed out on roughly $80 and future returns. We drove 40 mins to get there and 40 mins home so they are not around the corner. All I asked was what didn't have nuts on it so I didn't waste time looking through the menu and holding up the queue and I copped all of this. My wife who doesn't have any allergies wanted to leave out of embarrassment when the young kid was laughing as he refused to serve me. As We were walking out he said that It was up to me if I wanted to order but by then we were so disappointed, embarrassed, shocked and couldn't really believe what just happened. To finish with, according to this kid at Karomi Lokmas, you shouldn't be served if anywhere there are TRACES OF NUTS on...
Read moreWe took the family after seeing this on Mamma Knows West and were looking forward to it all day. We went Saturday night around opening and went to order some desserts and coffee. We got told they don't serve coffee but the menus, signs and coffee machines indicated they do, so we found that unfortunate especially with only tea and a few drinks from a small fridge on offer. We had especially been looking forward to the cheesecake and while it still tasted yum, and cheesecake should be served at room temp, the texture indicated that it was left out of the fridge too long and was overly gooey instead of keeping some form to it (it was a hot day also, so didnt seem appetising knowing how goopy it was). The other desserts were good. Along with the cheesecake we got a dirty spoon and there were no napkins around or given with the dessert which if youve seen them, are a definite need. The service was kind of no existent and honestly if all these little things hadn't happened I could see why it's been high rated, the desserts are full on and fun, especially if you bring the kids, but all the of the above just kind of ruined our experience and we left straight after eating. It's a shame because we are locals and absolutely love supporting small businesses...
