Again, another thing I've had to give a 5 star review, not because I believe Wyndham Vale council are perfect but because the other reviews are just so extreme. Yes the roads are bad during the school run and at the time office workers (if not the majority - a fairly large chunk of the working population) are on their way to work - no surprise, so leave earlier. Planning could have been done a little better when setting up the suburb but the powers that be are going to need sometime to sort that out. In terms of general services (such as rubbish collection and maintenance of common spaces) I have no complaints, the work gets done by generally helpful/friendly staff - but I'm originally from London and I will say Melbournites (Melbournians?) have higher standards. Some of the Parks like Presidents Park definitely need working on - they feel like a barren grassland - but that is then balanced out by places like Wyndham Park (though that does need cleaning - but the fault should all be place on the council - that is down to the public looking after the place as well). Sports facilities are good, but that also might be dependent on what a person earns. It will be interesting to see what happens as more suburbs grow - I hope that the council preserve the green spaces and don't sell it off to development - the atrraction for living here for me is the open spaces. Wyndham is a pretty good place to live (again I come from London - so I think my expectations are lower), but it could be great with a bit of work from the council and work from the people...
