Elephant Corridor has to be an incredible Sri Lankan Restaurant. Being a food enthusiast, I really do not mind travelling a distance for good food. This restaurant was first recommended to me by my family 3 months ago but I live in Brisbane. I finally managed to get a break to be in Melbourne and I definitely had to try this place out, and I am glad that we did! Despite the 1 hr 40 minutes drive from Melton, we reserved a table and made our way toElephant Corridor. Reservation was very easy and the staff were very helpful (even over the phone!). At the restaurant, the staff were very polite and extremely professional (kudos to the staff training-excellent customer service!). Food order was quick (via QR scan) and I must say the menu items was a great deal to choose from. The food preparation was very quick and efficient and the wait time was less than 10 minutes. The food: We are Fijians of Indian decent and we love our spice! The food was very generous with it's spices and we enjoyed everything (PS: If you do not like too much spice/heat there are mild and medium options but we specifically chose 'hot' as an option for almost all our selected items off the menu). The food was very authentic, aromatic and had a lot of taste! The items are also considerate about Gluten Free options, this also was a contributing factor to choose this restaurant as my mom has celiac and can not take food with gluten. Personal recommendations (best for this Melbourne winter): 1. Lamb Vindaloo 2. Sri Lankan Devilled Chicken 3. Green Jack Fruit Curry (vegetarian) 5/5 to everything that we ordered but these three dishes were the best! The overall ambience of the restaurant is incredible too and the friendly staff make things even better. It has a great vibe and it feels great to sit and enjoy good food with your loved ones. Having travelled more than 18 countries, Elephant Corridor is definitely one of my favourites now. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Now we arrived at Elephant Corridor in Glen Waverley without a booking. Not able to fit us in due to them being full they offered us the option of sitting outside which was comfortable due to the heating available. We started our evening with three refreshing lion lager being a party of three we decided to start your meal with tandoori lamb cutlets and the Royal tandoor platter. It was nice to receive warm plates to enjoy our starters on, which is very unusual as they are normally chilled at most places. The flavour of the cutlets and the other items coming from the tandoori Oven was very traditional tasty and enjoyable. For our second course we chose to Sample a few different dishes starting with everyone’s favourite butter chicken which was delicious and accompanied by yoghurt this helps with the hint of spice which was enjoyable .With this we also chose Lamb Rogan Josh and the Sri Lankan beef curry to accompany our wet dishes, the party agreed the garlic, naan, poppadoms, and Paratha a flaky wholemeal bread baked in The tandoor would be a good selection and they didn’t disappoint. Overall experience was enjoyable. Staff were a pleasure and most importantly, our host and the reception you gave us even taking into account we didn’t have a booking is what probably started the night off on the right note so when you arrive to try this venue please ask for Lasitha and start your evening off on the right foot.10/10 is how I rate our experience.

As a table of Indians and Sri Lankans, I can speak with some authority and have to say that we were not at all impressed with this restaurant. Firstly, the serving sizes were all strangely different. Chicken is markedly cheaper than Beef yet the butter chicken is served in a tiny pot while the Sri Lankan Beef Curry is a considerably larger serving. The Rogan Josh was even smaller (I thought it was an entree when it first came out). The Naan is twice the average price and the rice is steamed and colored so nothing special in terms of food quality. The Dining experience is terrible. They use mirrors very cleverly because when you first walk in you think you are dining in a large restaurant. However, you soon realize that it is only half the size and the continuous bumps from staff and patrons soon becomes unbearable. Price is so ridiculous especially when you consider some of the serving sizes. The food is of average standard but really there are more yummy options in surrounding suburbs like Clayton with generous serves at half the price. Oh, and parking around The Glen is a real stress since the cashed up Chinese moved in en masse. To combat this, The Monash Council have provided a phone app for their parking officers to help them pounce on your car and supply you with a hefty ticket so beware as the fine is nearly $90 from memory. So, in terms of stress, hustle and bustle lol, dining at The Elephant Corridor in the Glen of an evening does provide a genuine 3/5 big South Asian city experience. If you're not really into traffic jams, parking hassles, crowded walkways and after dinner parking fines then I recommend getting your Indian/Sri lankan fix elsewhere.

I've tried quite a few Sri Lankan restaurants around Melbourne, with mix of positive and negative review but this place just takes things to another level of horrible. This review is for two lamprice packs I bought costing close to ~ $65.00. Leaving the fact that a lumprice usualy comes wrapped in a banana leaf, this just came in a plastic box. 95% of the box was filled with a "yellow rice" and not a typical lumprice type flavour, instead more a biryani falvour. The rice was dry and almost close to going bad infact you can smell a hint of the bad smell when sniffed upclose. I have a strong feeling it was pre-packed forzen, then thawed and packed when ordered. The wambatu/eggplant moju and other curries were mushed-up to a thin layer, where it practically sticks to lid of the box, when opening. Further the pol sambal was not something I've ever seen before; it looked like a blob of coconut mixed in tandoori paste, BRIGHT reddish-orrange in color (probably a mix of tandoori coloring 🤔) Then the ash plantan/banana was old, as in cooked days before, hard as heck. Finally the chicken curry comes in a seporate container, why!? Thats not how lumprice is meant to be! All-in-all this lumprice was so bad I wanted to put this review as an FYI for others. Look at the images I've attached if you do not believe what I've said. P.S. Management please deliver value for what your customers pay!!

Went to this place on Friday at 8:30 pm. Booking is recommended as it’s a busy restaurant. We felt the service was really slow and a bit disappointing, it took almost 45mins for our entree and mains and with the time gap of 45mins our drinks (lion strong and resolution) were served by the time we finished our entree, as the kitchen was being closed we felt the wait staff were trying to rush us out. Coming to the food. The food was really tasty and will definitely come back for the food. For entree we had Tandoori chicken and Tandoori Mushrooms. Both the dishes were really delicious. For the mains we had Green jackfruit curry, Red Prawn Curry (Rathu Isso) and kukul Mas(chicken curry) with some roti and garlic naan. The food was incredible, if you like to experience various flavour this is a must visit place. This place has One of the best Red Prawn Curry I ever had in the Melbourne. The food served at this place made up our mind for the disappointing service. I did give the feedback to the lady manger and she received the feedback and did apologies. Overall a nice experience with the food.

Excellent place to have some spicy SriLankan food. We really liked the service and the food. Although they had an altered menu to select from on Mother’s Day, it still had a lot of variety to it. We had the butter chicken, the chicken tikka (you get 3 pieces but because there were 4 of us eating chicken they offered to add one piece at extra cost), the salt and pepper calamari SriLankan style (as an entree, there is an option to upgrade it to mains), kukul mas (chicken) curry, green jackfruit (polos) curry, string hoppers, and wattalapan. We absolutely loved the spicy kukul mas curry and the mildly flavoured green jackfruit curry. Both had distinct taste to it. The chicken tikka is one of the best that we’ve had in this area. Wattalapan is something that we tried for the first time and was a bit too sweet for our liking. They have a humble drinks menu to select from as well.
