Service & Pricing: Average.
Location: In the heart of Yarraville. My advice is just park somewhere in Yarraville and walk to the place. You'll get a glimpse of Yarraville and may even find some treasures along the way. Enjoy your walk there and then enjoy the company of your friends over brunch. Then work off the carbs by walking back to the car. It's one of those areas where you can really feel the community when you visit.
Ambiance/Atmosphere: Depending on whether it is peak hour or not, it may get super crowded and busy. You can opt to sit outside (limited tables) for those with doggos or prams, or sit inside. For those who like courtyards, you can also walk past the counter to find a cute, but small area here as well. For those who like to be lone wolves, it's probably best to sit in the main indoors area, but we warned, it may get loud so bring headphones.
Conclusion: I have been here a couple of times. It's not one of my top choices but I do consider it, especially when I am meeting someone special that I haven't seen in a long time. I would normally opt to sit in the courtyard though because it's brighter and I have poor eye sight. However I don't necessarily come here for the food. I do have to mention though, they have a really deliciously healthy selection of porriage/oat dishes so be sure to try them out i you love nuts...
Read moreI very rarely write a negative review as I am aware of the impact they can have on businesses. I went to the Corner Shop last Monday for lunch with a friend. We ordered a Ruben Sandwich each and a bowl of chips to share. We both agreed the quality of the sandwich was abysmal. We both ate less than half each and started to feel a little queasy. The chips were not good either. My friend was not well for the next 24 hours and I was not well for a few hours after. Thankfully we are both now well. I am in business myself and I fully understand that things go wrong. After all we are all humans. What upset me is that when I respectfully advised the issue to 2 staff members, their demeanour showed that they didn't really care. Nothing was done regarding the $54 that I spent. It was clearly evident that more than half the food was left behind. Maybe a gesture to not charge us the full amount as a form of empathy? It seems they were just happy to take my money without really showing any empathy on our experience. As I said, mistakes happen. But how they are dealt with is the defining characteristic of a good & professional business. That's the disappointing part. If they would have shown some empathy and showed they cared, then I would have not put it down as a bad experience. It was a very bad experience and I will definitely never go back there again. I hope the staff can learn about...
