Let me start by saying i have owned cafes and restaurants over the past 10 yrs, and its a common knowledge in hospitality let alone any customer service role that a happy customer might tell 1 person but an unhappy customer will tell 10 pple. This place is our local, i walk there in less than 7 mins, we have had numerous family functions there over the past 2 years. I booked a table for 15 pple for mothers day 2 weeks earlier for 7pm. We were all there on time as a matter of fact 5 mins earlier, only to be told table is not ready yet. Fair enough it happens in the industry im aware of that, previous patrons took a little longer than expected. I realized as we standing there ownership has changed, lets hope the quality of food hasn't. The 5mins wait turned into 20mins, standing 15 of us with kids and oldies against the glass almost in the way of pple walking in and out of the place. The new owner kept telling us 5 mins every 5 mins, as a joke and to relax a little frustration of everone i said to him this deserves a round of drinks on the house, for him to smile and tell me thats the lebo in me coming out... im sorry but last i checked i wasnt Lebanese and what gave you the assumption i was?? We finally got escorted to our table, as i walked there i saw the sign over the counter saying 10% surcharge on mother day... wow is mothers day a public holiday now and i wasnt told. We ordered, food took about 40 mins to come out, fair enough its full house im ok with that, but just come and acknowledge us.. something like " sorry guys about keeping you waiting for the table and the delay for the food we are just under the pump tonight as you can see it wont be much longer" is that rocket sign, simple customer service. After we were seated till we left not a word from the new owner pacing around proud of a full restaurant. Yes food was still good but im sorry thats not enough for me to ever go back there again. I live local and i own businesses locally too but i will now travel further to get a pizza rather than be treated as $$$ only. There are plenty of training material and courses out there for customer service i strongly recommend you invest in, good luck in...
Read moreStopped for an impromptu late dinner at this local restaurant this week after a testing day at work. It was not my first meal at this venue, since I live down the road but it was the first where I left utterly disappointed.
I ordered cheese and spinach ravioli with sage butter. The meal was priced at $35, which is more than I would spend as a solo diner, but I was exhausted and looking forward to a meal prepared by a chef tonight.
The pasta came out fast. Completely floppy from being overcooked and hugely over salted. Disappointing but I ate it since i was hungry, and it was late.
My waitress, Michelle was super attentive and lovely and looked after my table from arrival and until the end - asked me how my meal was. I answered with honesty to say the meal was not great and I would appreciate better for the price paid. She went out of her way to call her boss over, as she needed to seek his approval for a discount. Great customer service from Michelle.
What followed after it the reason I will never return to this restaurant.
The owner - a grey bearded middle aged man came over to 'sort things out', was outright rude and aggressive leaning over the counter demanding an explanation of what went wrong with my meal. It was so embarrassing and I was made to feel humiliated.
I calmly explained the issue and told him that the meal did not meet its price tag expectations. The guy was so inappropriate and made me feel uncomfortable. I had hoped for a different service at an 'Italian' restaurant, since I have travelled extensively all around Italy multiple times.
These operators don't care for the quality of food or the customer experience - only the profit. If you want decent Italian food and a positive dining experience - do yourself a favour and spend your...
Read moreMelbourne needs more venues like this and how they are run & managed. Well worth the 30km drive from the east. The pizza crust consistency and flavour profiling was very satisfying. The red peppers, and blend of herb was perfectly done and the goats cheese was top notch high grade, you can tell. Its hard to get true authentic pizza these days let alone fresh house made toppings that arent out of a jar. Especially when you work so hard all day and want to treat yourself to the good things. Its hard to hedge your bets at most places these days, that turn out a dissapointment or things are amateur, and highly priced, or give you reflux for hours after because the food is old. So here it was a pleasant outcome with authentic food at a great price and a good after sense to it. I rocked up super hungry and despite the place being so packed out, the pizza arrived in a few minutes which was fantastic. Great selection of wine. Tried the sauvignon blanc which went great with the house made chilli on the pizza. All up a $55 spend thats a great evening out. So safe bet to take your friends there or organise a catch up group. Nice vibe and all locals it seemed with everyone happy. So says a great deal about the place. The owner Jamil has a heart of gold, personally making sure your well looked after and having a chat. The desserts could do with a bit of amping up, but was still enjoyable none the less and great value with all the ingredients. Cosy vibe and you dont get such good service much elsewhere these days. Highly...
