The relish transcends what on might expect from a humble roll and the bread is the perfect balance between crispy and soft - soft enough that you're not woodchipping the whole thing but crispy enough to absorb all the liquid goodness the ingredients impart. And they load the thing. It's a meal.

Costa D'Oro also seems to be completely immune from inflation as it is one of the few places in the city where you get a bahn mi for less than $10.

If they did Michelin stars in Australia this place would have three of them. Not only should you drop in an grab a little rolly boy when you're in the area and hungry, you should plan a trip to Thornbury from wherever you are in the world to go here.

There’s no scrimping here, the lovely staff pack a decent array of tasty morsels into a super soft and crusty roll with so much care you’d never guess yours was #276 they made that day. I had to check the store photos just to make sure I have the right place. How have these guys received 5 star reviews is beyond me. The woman who served me was so rude. I was the only person in the store. She yelled at me 3 times, what you want even after I had explained it was my first time visiting her store. I was there for less than 60 seconds. The banh mi was revolting. Half the ingredients were well past their consumable date. I love coriander but prefer mine green not brown. Had to throw it out. Waste of 10...
