Unfortunately I had a negative experience at this pretentious cafe....mediocre coffee and simple toastie.I chose to sit in the prime position at a large round table up at the front windows with the intention of moving if a large group came in.The young girl serving asked me to move when she delivered my coffee as she was going "to start cleaning soon and she starts with the big table".I moved to the bar stools on the opposite corner and ate my toastie like a good customer would, I glanced up sometime later and lo and behold there's a group of people sitting at the table that needs to be vacant. Not impressed and as the cafe doesn't close until 3.30pm and it was 2.10 pm when I arrived there, the atmosphere felt like hurry up,get out of here,I need to start my cleaning,I'm tired,I want to go home.Never again.....ill find another cafe...

I’ve always liked this café, so I was disappointed this time. I bought two pots of their house-made granola and tried some while having my coffee. The walnuts tasted rancid: soapy and with that sharp, lingering flavour you get when nuts have gone bad. I mentioned it to the waitress, who went to check and came back saying she and the boss didn’t think they were rancid. She offered me a refund at first, but then said it only applied to the unopened pot.

The problem is you only discover the issue once you open it. They also said they had tasted the nuts themselves, but not in front of me. In the end I left the opened pot there, because I wasn’t going to take it home. It was a disappointing experience from a café I’ve had good visits to...

The sandwich was mediocre at best, but the shakshuka was surprisingly good — the soft bread and slightly spicy sauce worked well together. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The coffee was bland and forgettable.

Service was poor — I paid extra to add cheese, but it was missing from the dish when served.

Worst of all, my coffee was served in a chipped cup. This is completely unacceptable and dangerous. A sharp edge like that could easily cut someone’s lips or tongue if they’re not paying close attention.

This kind of negligence raises serious concerns about overall hygiene and customer safety. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves both their service and attention to...

I recently had breakfast at Dixie Bakery Cafe and had an incredibly positive experience. The food is absolutely delicious and the coffee is amazing. The staff are friendly and happy to recommend choices, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. They offer a great variety of options on their menu, all at reasonable prices. I particularly enjoyed the boreka breakfast. The venue itself is spacious with bright and pleasant decor, making it a delightful place to dine. I would definitely return!

My experience at Dixie cafe was very positive indeed. Famous for their sumptuous cakes, they also do lots of delicious savoury dishes - Roasted Sweet Potatoes And Beetroot Salad, Red Lentil Soup and Cheese and Spinach Bourekas, to name a few! The music is never too loud, the natural light in the cafe is relaxing and people are made to feel welcome, to take their time and savour what is on offer. Excellent service as well! 10/10 - Hamish John Appleby APPLEBY PHOTOGRAPHY
