This lovely and cozy restaurant seats about 25 people with small tables and has an extensive menu including weekly specials.

This is also the perfect location for a first date.

I know their Instagram images do not reveal so much about their atmosphere, but it feels much better in real life.

Even though the restaurant is small, I guess it has a really good air circulation system so after finishing dinner and walking out, the kitchen smell didn't linger on my clothes, making me feel like I was a giant “walking sushi”. :)) Been there, done that!

The service is good and friendly. They have an open sushi bar where you can see the chef prepping sushi and sashimi.

We went here for a dinner and were impressed with the service and high-quality food in here.

I highly recommend trying the fish cheeks (different types of fish are available). The gyoza is also my favourite as it comes with an appropriate amount of sauce making it not too plain and still has a crisp base. Maguro sushi is also great - it doesn’t taste like rubber in some places.

If you want to explore many little things, I recommend ordering the chef’s selection board or the SET MENU.

On top of that, there is also a good selection of sake, or you can never go wrong Choya Umeshu wine - served in a wine glass with ice.

For dessert, the matcha ice cream surely beats the black sesame or if you don’t want to adventure, go vanilla.

The prices are a bit more expensive compared to other places but it’s acceptable for a Japanese restaurant like this within the area.

Food is nice, but had a horrible experience with service on Saturday: The waitress took one of our orders, but took the menus and walked away before the one person could order The first dish (miso soup) took 45 minutes to come out Then after entrees, there was another 45 minute gap before mains came out One of the mains never came out, and the waitress said the chef "forgot" to make it We were charged for that main, and only when we challenged the bill, did they remove it.

Hence the advice here: Do not go here when this place is busy. You will be waiting a long time for food. And the young waitress couldnt care less about the customers.

Theres much better Japanese restaurants on Glenferrie Rd and Glenhuntly Rd...

A small traditional Japanese restaurant with an extensive menu. Seeing they have a sushi bar, decided to order the deluxe sushi platter which included some premium seafood such as the fatty tuna and the salmon roe, as well as the less common garfield and flounder fin fish. Sushi pieces were quite big, and the seafood was very fresh and tasty. Also had the unagi don, nicely grilled and flavourful with some sansho Japanese pepper which paired well with the sweet unagi sauce. Only minus was the small portion of unagi relative to the amount of rice. Overall very fresh and delicious, service was good. Would recommend at least getting some...

After three bento meals, I found the standard and price are different. The picture was taken when I was eating for the first time and it was of high quality, but unfortunately, when I went to eat two times later, I found the quality was deteriorating. The last time I chose to take away and threw it away when I opened it.I was really disgusted. The food was not fresh.and it was completely different from my first time. never come back again!
