Nostralis Wholemeal Vegetarian & Vegan Pızza — Restaurant in Melbourne

This place smells like the best pizza joint ever. But it just smells and looks good. I had the Nostralis special pizza which had tooooooo many bean shoots that the pizza didn't taste like pizza but bean shoots alone. It was sooo soggy that it was dripping water. It had no seasonings, no salt as well. They don't even have tomato sauce. I've never had such a bad pizza ever in my life. I have been a vegetarian all my life but hated this place. I would give 0 stars but 1 star is only for the smell of the pizza. It's soo strong and attractive. They also charged us an extra 2 dollars( 1 dollar per person) because there was a board that said something like we're charging extra dollar per person who dines in for service or something. Every restaurant has dine in and take away option but they don't charge extra for service. Ridiculous reasons of paying people to wash dishes. Hated the place. Nostralis make the best vegetarian pizzas known to man.

There’s a good reason this place has been going for so many years – it’s because they make the best vegetarian pizzas anywhere and once you try them, you’ll be back. You only have to read the other reviews on here to see it has a strong and loyal following.

If you have never tried Nostralis pizza, I can recommend the Vegies or the ’Mexicana’’. Also, the ‘Lentil’ pizza is new and it’s the vegetarian pizza version of a shepherd's pie. These are my favourites.

Only after you tried some of these would I suggest trying one that's got bean shoots on it (like the ‘Mondo’ or the ‘Special’) because the high water content of the ingredients aren't traditional for pizza, it takes a bit of getting used to.

When you love it as much as I do, you'll be ordering an extra one to eat cold...

It may look like your average neighborhood pizza joint, but Nostralis Pizza is anything but!

I wandered in with my family on a Tuesday night which you would normally expect to be quite, but on the contrary the kitchen was pumping out pizza after pizza, and we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and this incredible aroma of pizza.

Vegetarian is not my forte, so we let the owner decide for us and in a matter of minutes out came these amazing smelling pizzas and again our expectations continued to be exceeded.

The crust was crisp, flavorful, and chewy. The toppings worked together beautifully and everything was either vegetarian or vegan and with gluten free options.
