Today I went to this Donut King to buy coffee. I was on the phone while in line, but I put my phone away before ordering. Before I could even greet the server, she said in a rude tone, âLet me know once you finish talking on the phone.â I placed my order, paid, and waited attentively. My order was never called out (staff claimed they called it three times, but I never heard it). When I finally received it, the cup was half full and had only one sweetener instead of the two I requested.
When I brought this up, three staff members including the manager with short blonde hair began raising their voices at me, saying I âwouldnât like themâ if they took my order while I was on the phone, even though I wasnât. The fact that the manager joined in this rude behavior was shocking and unacceptable.
I understand if phone use at the counter isnât preferred, but thereâs a polite, professional way to handle it. This entire experience was hostile and unwelcoming. I will not be returning and will be telling family and friends to avoid...

Yes it can be disrespectful at times no doubt but these days telehealth is over the phone, work is over the phone etc⌠and people run on appointments and time. Therefore if someone is trying to buy and your rules prevent you from serving people on the phone then you will need to have some sort of social intelligence allowing you to assess the situation. Body language can exhibit if the person is on a serious phone call or just chatting with a friend. Otherwise maybe serve people as they wish to be served and if you donât like it change...
   Read moreBrought a large coffee and it tasted like warm milk. Took it back to the girls working and inquired about it as I feel like they just forgot a shot of coffee, was rudely dismissed. I don't like confrontation, I work in retail... I wasn't rude. Simply thought it may have been an oversight. Their rudeness and unwillingness to rectify it by adding another shot of coffee ir make a new one (was happy to fix the original) was dismal. As a manager I'd be mortified if my staff spoke to customers like they did. And now an overpriced cup of warm milk wasted. Poor...
