Extremely Disappointed – Served Non-Veg to a Vegetarian Despite Repeated Requests!
I am absolutely shocked and appalled by my recent experience at Dosa Hut. As a lifelong vegetarian, I always take extra care while ordering food at any restaurant. When I visited Dosa Hut, I clearly specified multiple times that I am strictly vegetarian and requested them to double-check my order before serving. I even asked the staff personally, and stressed again and again, “Please make sure my food is 100% vegetarian.”
But despite my repeated and clear instructions, they served me a non-vegetarian biryani.
I took a few bites before realizing something was wrong. The texture and smell were off, and after raising the issue with the staff, I was horrified to find out that it was in fact a non-veg biryani. This was not just a careless mistake — it was a complete breach of trust, and deeply disrespectful to my dietary choices, religious beliefs, and personal values.
Do you even realize what this means for a vegetarian? How can a restaurant that claims to serve Indian food — where vegetarianism is a core cultural value for so many — be this reckless? Why are you not training your staff properly? Why do you not have proper checks in place? Why are you playing with people’s food, health, and emotions?
This isn’t just a bad service incident — this is deeply offensive and unacceptable. You took away my choice, ignored my repeated requests, and caused serious distress. I have never felt so betrayed and disrespected at any restaurant before.
I expected some level of accountability, but instead got careless attitudes and zero remorse. There was no sincere apology, no effort to make it right. Just silence and indifference.
Dosa Hut, you need to ask yourselves: • Do you even care about your customers? • Is serving food correctly too much to ask? • What kind of management lets this happen? • How many other people has this happened to?
I will never be returning here again, and I will make sure to warn others about your irresponsible and negligent service. This is not just a mistake — this is a complete failure of ethics, professionalism, and basic human decency.
Avoid this place at all costs — especially if you value...
Read moreI placed dinner order last night for mixed tandoori platter and few other food yesterday and looks like they gave us either a stale food or it was cooked ages ago or something that was frozen before and they defrosted it and heated it and then gave it to me. The paneer in that platter was half soft and half was still not defrosted and was chewy hard and rubbery. The tandoori chicken was just warm outside and some parts were still cold like it was out from the fridge. The seek kebab was again cold from inside. The tandoori roti was also stale. It was not fresh at all. If it was fresh it would have been hot and little crispy. It was so soggy and some parts were uncooked as well. Very disappointed. When I called to inform them they said food is fresh but we can give you another one. I live far and it is not possible for me to go and get the food and come back again. It is so frustrating. And the girl said the manager will call me. But nobody called me. We didn't have a proper dinner last night. After coming back from holiday we preferred to have some take away food and the whole experience was so disappointing. I remember my friend telling me the quality of dosa hut foods have gone very bad. I didn't believe it as I have dined in and took take away food from dosa hut so many times as I loved their food but now I can relate to my friend's disappointment. It is tru. The food is no longer how it used to be. I'm never going to order from here again. And I would also suggest people to take the photos of the food they receive from dosa hut and make sure to have the proof to show them. They think we wanted our refund and all that but it is what it is. If you don't serve proper food then you have to give the refund or at least have the decency to call back and apologies. Here are the photos of our last night's dinner. We couldn't eat it. My husband threw all his food in the bin. And this...
Read moreThis place and management here is a cheat. I ordered chicken 65 jumbo biryani yesterday for a gathering. Now we frequently order the same biryani from the point cook branch as we always like it better there. This time due to last minute decision, had to order from the Tarneit branch. So, ideally the chicken 65 biryani has a bed of chicken 65 in the bottom and rice over it. This one, however, had sparsely distributed chicken layer at the bottom. And this was such an embarrassment. The biryani hardly served 4 people when it promises to serve 7-8. It’s a shame people resort to such cheap tactics in the name of running a restaurant. The management here needs to be honest to the service they provide. You guys are not running it for charity. Customer pays you, in fact, in the current inflated prices, we pay you more than usual, the least you could do is provide value to it. It’s a shame when a person who orders from your restaurant returns so dissatisfied. When we called the restaurant, they say next time when you order we’ll give you proper chicken. Really? Is that the solution to the embarrassment we faced? We as customers do not ask for any extra favour from you. All we need is value for our money and you can do that only when you’re honest and not money oriented. Shame! Vouch to never order from this branch and encourage people to do the same. Please try the point cook branch and you’ll know the difference in...
