It was a pleasure to be invited to Good Times Milk Bar. I arrived for a lovely late lunch with my 21 year old daughter, who is herself a great foodie. Greeted by Brent, we were offered a choice of tables inside or in the rear courtyard and on such a sunny day it would’ve been nice soaking up the gamma rays but we chose inside. Nestled into our table surrounded by singles, couples, families and groups of friends, we both could see GTMB was popular with a diverse array of customers. This local corner cafe has found a niche of being able to be something to everyone with a focus on offering good food, balancing their clientele from toddlers to seniors and everyone in between nicely. The menu is extensive and was impressed with the range of healthy choices. Just looking at what the menu offers kids is a testament to the acknowledgment that kids don’t have to eat just hot chips for a meal. We started with a gin and tonic - which turned out to be the perfect beginning to our GTMB experience. For lunch we chose the Roast Pumpkin with Dutch carrots, parsley, baby beets, pearly barley, lentils, feta, spiced yoghurt and pomegranate dressing. Served on a beautiful plate, each vegetable carefully placed for maximum eye appeal, it was an immediate mouth watering meeting when I set eyes on my meal. As well we had a Classic Beef Burger with American cheese, lettuce, dill pickle, ketchup, mustard, GTMB sauce with beer battered fries. Portion sizes were generous and taste of each meal was individual and exceptional. The vegetable dish left me with a clean palette but wanting more of that pomegranate dressing. The burger was very similar to a Big Mac in taste but the beef burger was thick and hand made. Fries weren’t fries. They were chips. Good old fashioned chips and brought back memories of being a kid - albeit these were beer battered. I finished off with a loose leaf chai that was superb. Milk was hot, generous portion of honey and a very nice blend which I later enquired was the brand Prana Chai. We were considering dessert but the cake display was almost empty due to eager diners before us. I’m told that normally there is a selection of brownies, cupcakes, muffins, slices and cookies. It was lovely to see a family in one of the generously sized booths having a meal, the kids were playing the card game UNO while dad read the paper, mum doing a crossword puzzle. Family that eats together - stays together. No screen time for this family. The decor I’d describe as ”modern 1950’s” with pastel colours and big prints on the wall. Easy on the eye and tastefully put together. Staff were delightful, attentive and helpful. Thank you. The courtyard at the rear is charming and dogs are more than welcome. Dog water bowls provided. There are umbrellas over tables for shade on those sunny days. Wheelchair friendly including the toilets. Very child friendly with high chairs available as well as colouring sheets & pencils. Brent showed us another part of the GTMB called Good Time Burgers that opens at 6pm where you enter from the side street. Here there is a ‘hole in the wall’ where diners can order their meal through the ‘hole’ and choose to eat outdoors in the courtyard or up at one of the high tables on the street front. A very relaxed and casual atmosphere. Note: GTMB also does catering. Thank you to the team @GTMB for a memorable experience. You’ve done a wonderful job of creating a unique cafe/restaurant. We wish you all the success in the future.

Husband and I, and friend who lives nearby, interested to try this place since they took over from Good Times Milk Bar. They'd only been open 3 days and there were some very obvious teething problems with staff but that's easy to sort out. Husband had calamari salad, friend had mixed mushroom medley with houlami on toast and I had avocado smash on toast with side of spinach. We also had flat whites, soy lattes, skinny lattes and tea! And even though I didn't need them I ordered fries which the kitchen forgot about anyway but then reminded them and they came out and yes piping hot though needed salt. The food was really good and the coffee (Dimattina) was excellent! There is lots of seating inside and out the back (friendly Schnauzer visiting with owners when I was there) and the decor is nice, light and bright, pinkish accents. However bathrooms unusual paintwork so check that out. They will be serving alcohol too but not yet and they also have nice tempting range of sweet treats (little cakes, muffins, brownies etc). 24.11 ten of us there for lunch, had heaps of coffees (decaf soy lattes for me) and food. I had vegetarian burger with chips but swapped white bun for wholegrain bread, which was delicious. Others had fruit toast, muffin, calamari salad, beef burger, salad and pasta. All agreed food delicious.

Please don't waste your time eating here unless you like bland tasteless food. We tried this place cos my buddy always supports new start ups. Thinking they would always produce and showcase their best food. Sorry.. not in this case. He ordered 'Pulled pork tacos' and I ordered 'Spaghettini'... The tacos came in a huge plate that was haphazardly put together. The tortilla was a bit tough and the filling.. some 'strands' of pulled pork and a great big whack of sour cream sitting on a splatter of hot sauce. The presentation of the spaghettini was much better but the taste.. what taste? It was bland. Not enough salt, pepper or spice. My buddy was very nice when he said "It needs help.." I replied "Help?? It needs CPR!" And to the reviewer who said that the decor was nice. I really think you're blind. I don't even understand the concept. California Milk Bar?? What's with the Pink paintings on the wall and the half built walls showing bricks. If it's gonna an industrial design then keep it stark and dark. If it's California themed, then give us beaches and views of Sunsets. One 🌟 for offering a choice of sparkling or still water and one 🌟 airiness and sprightliness of the place.

Such a cute cafe located in Bentleigh! We tried the

🥬BREKKY GREENS — Broccolini, green beans, kale, seasonal greens, avocado chimichurri, sesame, poached egg ($20) 🥚CITRUS CURED SALMON — 110g citrus cured salmon, seared skin side fennel & celeriac remoulade panko crumbed egg, cress & grapefruit salad, fried capers ($26) 🍝PRAWN SPAGHETTINI — Prawns, chorizo, paprika oil, garic, chilli, cherry tomatoes, white wine, parmesan ($30) 🥔POTATO GEMS with tomato sauce and aioli ($10) 🍊FRESHLY SQUEEZED OJ ($7) ☕️PRANA CHAI ($6)

There was nothing we could fault with the dishes — it was absolutely perfect! They were all different from one another but were all equally as delicious. The brekky greens was light and fresh, the prawn pasta was flavoured and cooked to perfection, the salmon was also a very balanced dish and the potato gems were crunchy and tasty! The only constructive criticism I could give was the service. It was overall sensational, but there was one particular waiter who was quite rude, the drinks order came out wrong and our order of potato gems was forgotten. However, that aside, all the other staff were super nice and friendly and the dishes came very quick! Either way, the fact that our food was impeccable made up for it 😌💗

All in all, super vibey cafe! Love their aesthetic, so colourful and fun! Food was absolutely delicious and balanced, perfect portions and well seasoned — we left the cafe very satisfied and in a food coma 😍 Would recommend a visit if you’re in the...
