We had lunch for two here today (Tuesday). The restaurent was empty except for ourselves, but there were a few takeout orders over the time of our stay. We ordered from the daily specials board and asked if there were any other kitchen specials. Deepfried dumplings, a dimsum steamed assortment, herbed fried whitebait, steamed rice and wasabi beef with julienned vegetables, were recommended to us by the charming, helpful and well informed hostess, and so we chose. Every single mouthful was absolutely delicious. To be honest we were a little surprised by the seriously excellent quality of each dish. Even the jasmine tea was of high quality and most refreshing. Everthing arrived piping hot, and mouth wateringly aromatic, each ingredient fresh and clear on the palate, either with a complementary dipping sauce, or in it's cooking juices. We greedily ate every last molecule. The dishes we ordered were exactly the right number and variety to provide a very satisfying meal. But we were so eager to taste each dish that we forgot to take photos of our first three choices. This modest restaurent sits very unobtrusively in a strip mall in East Bentleigh, on Centre Road, near the corner of Tucker Street, and neither of us had heard of it before. It was a very lucky off the cuff choice. Total cost was $64. There is absolutely no doubt that we will make the Seven Stars a regular part of our eat in and takeout schedule. This is definitely a neighbourhood gem.

So on a Friday night two large hungry Best mates went for dinner to this restaurant for the first time. A wonderful greeting on arrival and we chose a table that accommodated the two of us. We ordered a few starters, including steamed dim Sims and chicken satay sticks And vegetarian spring rolls. Table was given complimentary prawn crackers. The menu is huge literally and two sided with many options. Now because of my allergies to onion and garlic. The hostess called Jenny looked after us very well explaining what I can and can’t eat and we ordered for mains Lemon chicken and a beef in oyster sauce with vegetables and a side dish of rice with chicken and prawns. Amazing service tasty food excellent value and good prices will make us come back again. I can’t believe that we have never found this place before, and we live in Carnegie, thanks Jenny, and your family for your hospitality!

Called in for a quick Friday lunch to mainly sample Seven Stars famous dim sims. As a member of the 45k strong Facebook page Dim Sims 4 Lyfe, we were eager to heed all the recommendations for these wonderful morsels. Hostess Jenny could not have been more charming and the rest of the food was delicious as well. Took home a further dozen frozen dim sims for the freezer. Will definitely be back to eat our way through the menu. Highly recommended.

“Seven stars is an absolute treasure, delivering an authentic dining experience that will leave you raving! The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring you feel welcome and well-cared for from start to finish. They are also knowledgeable about the menu, offering excellent recommendations tailored to your taste.

Now, the star of the show: their signature dim sims. They are simply phenomenal! The taste is just astounding!!! The steamed dim sims are incredibly tender, with a juicy filling that bursts with flavor. The crispy fried options have the perfect crunch, and the balance of textures is a true delight. You can really taste the authenticity and craftsmanship in every bite; it’s clear they use time-honored techniques to achieve such excellence. I here take aways are popular for their dimsims too!! It’s on the top of my list to try next!!

In addition to their exceptional dim sims, the rest of the menu is equally impressive. The stir-fried noodles are flavorful and cooked to perfection, while the aromatic fried rice has a wonderful mix of textures and tastes. I personally loved their stirred beef with vegetables, with an appetizing hue and a great marriage of meat and veges—a real showstopper!

The service is consistently impeccable; the staff ensures that each dish is served at the ideally. The attention to detail extends to the presentation, with dishes arriving beautifully plated, enhancing the overall experience. The prices are very reasonable given the quality and portion sizes, making it a fantastic value.

This place is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves Chinese cuisine, especially those who appreciate expertly made dim sims. It’s the kind of restaurant that makes you want to return again and again—truly a...
