Dumpling De Master Reviewed on 8/2/2025
What a name! Is it a chic French bistro serving avant-garde dumplings or a whimsical, pseudo-Chinese eatery dedicated to nothing but dumplings? The curiosity is palpable!
One might wonder if such a quirky name risks losing potential Chinese / Asian food lovers who crave more than just dumplings. Fear not, for Dumpling de Master is undeniably offers Chinese Dim Sum and Malaysian street foods.
Dumpling De Master masterfully crafts plump, juicy dumplings that cater to both vegetarians and meat lovers alike. Whether steamed to perfection or pan-fried to a crispy delight — some might call them "pot stickers" — each bite is a symphony of flavours.
Beyond the delicious dumplings, Dumpling de Master stands out as one of the few eateries offering the charred flavour of Cha Kuey Teow (CKT) with delectable pork fat bits. My taste buds tingled in anticipation.
When it comes to frying technique, the CKT had Wok Hei. However, the dark soy sauce leaned a tad too sweet, slightly marring the final product. I have to mention to the owner of the business that the oil used for frying the CKT tends coat and stick to palate and the lips.

Unlike many other restaurants, Dumpling de Master dares to be different by serving Chinese Dim Sum items individually. I indulged in the Egg Tart, and oh, what a treat it was! The pastry was exquisitely flaky, enveloping a generous amount of luscious custard.
In conclusion, Dumpling de Master surpasses a number of similar Malaysian eateries...
Read moreThe best pan fried dumplings I've ever had? Plump, juicy, delicious and perfectly cooked, with an extremely generous sized filling -- I had the Pan-Fried Chicken and Prawn Dumplings.
The casing was just the right thickness, meaning the dumpling was crispy all the way through on the pan-side, without being a single bit overcooked or still undercooked in the middle. I completely forgot about the dipping sauce I was given with my takeaway order and they didn't need it.
While the price was about average for 10 dumplings, what wasn't average was the size of the dumplings. I've never had a takeaway container stuffed to the brim with a single order of dumplings. I think they would easily compare to 14 normal sized dumplings unless I've just been unlucky in the past. Value-wise they were much better than I've experienced in the past, except maybe some $9 cheapies, without factoring in the quality.
While these dumplings absolutely are 5 star, I didn't think I couldn't rate the entire restaurant based on just a single dish. I can't wait to try more dishes and hopefully gather enough information to upgrade the rating to a 5. It's for...
