Unfortunately, our experience was poor.
We had to approach the front desk to find out which table we were sitting at despite having booked.
We waited 30 mins before we were offered drinks, and the server seemed annoyed that we didn't order beer.
An hour in, and we were finally approached by 'a friend just helping out because it's Mother's Day and they're busy' to take our order and we had to write it ourselves on an old receipt!
Not all the meals came.
We had to prompt them twice, including a visit to the counter again, to find out what was going on with the missing meals.
The 'friend' told us we were lucky he was there. How are we lucky, exactly?
Even after prompting and confirming what the missing meals were, one of the staff came back to the table to ask which flavour spring rolls we ordered. It was written on the receipt.
They ended up giving the spring rolls to us for free, but they were luke warm and, by that time, the person who ordered them was no longer hungry.
One of our guests is allergic to nuts (not fatally, but we never take chances) and we told them we don't want any nuts or nut products at our table. The roti she ordered came out with a satay sauce despite the menu not mentioning they would. Thankfully we could separate the sauce from the roti and she could eat safely.
The BBQ pork plate came out hot and the person who ordered it was not warned. He burnt himself.
A 2nd BBQ pork was one of the missing meals and that came with slightly undercooked pork and far too much MSG.
It is far too noisy. The sounds just bounce off the walls, floor and ceiling as there are no sound softeners to dull it - no carpet, curtains or fabric decor to help deaden the sound. Just. Too. Loud.
There was a guy serving who would have stopped if he went any slower and he was wearing a T-shirt that said 'I'm multitasking, I can listen, ignore and forget all at the same time.' Perhaps that's the restaurant's slogan?
They were plainly understaffed and overwhelmed.
I get it's Mother's Day and it's busy. It appeared there was only one person in the kitchen with one behind the counter, and they seemed to be prioritising the take away orders over those seated in the restaurant. Perhaps, more staff on a day like today would have helped.
The two stars is because they did give us one meal 'on the house' and...
Read moreI was disgusted by this restaurant. We ordered for celebrations of mother’s day and my mums birthday. We knew that it would be busy and ordered at 6:30 and they told us that they would deliver us the food at 8:07 and it was delivered at 9:00 that was 1 hour delay. Not only that they were late they also had purposely swapped the meat without consulting with us. We r allergic to beef and had ordered to chicken, when they gave us the food with their hands might I add which shouldn’t be done at the current situation. They just said that they swapped the chicken for beef because they ran out of chicken, like it wasn’t a big deal. They had r contacts so if they would have made changes to the order they should have contacted us. When we had received the boxes of food from his hands we told him that we r allergic to beef. We didn’t get any reassurance or respect, he just went to the car and brought a bunch of refused foods and said we can compromise with them. Normally customers come first, but this time they didn’t care at all, we were disrespected. He put the refused food ON THE FLOOR and gave us 2 plan white rices which we could have cooked at home for free and it would have taken 20 minutes not over 1 hour. We had payed $52 dollars and what we had received wasn’t near at much as we payed. The delivery man didn’t know what any of the food was. He was guessing which curry was which and I quote ‘Do u know what meat this is? I think this is chicken. What does BR stand for?’. He should know BR obviously stands for Beef Rice. He told us that we can go to the shop ourselves and chose something complementary. Why would we order food if we would just go to the shop? We were all already wearing PJs. I didn’t just have bad experience from the shop the food was also disgusting. There was supposed to be vegetables and chicken but all I found was I piece of chicken and no vegetables, the noodles were also very dry. I would not recommend this to anyone ever. This food was utterly terrible. I would never go to this restaurant ever again even if they give us free food, they do not respect their customers. If I could give this restaurant 1 star I would but google doesn’t let me write a review if I don’t give it any stars. Do not recommend this to anyone....
Read moreShame to give Scoresby Thai such a poor rating, as the food is generally really good...IF they get your order right, or deliver all your food you've paid for, or not deliver cold food to your door. Yes they offer food delivery, however EVERY order I have had delivered as had the above issues with it and involves me calling the restaurant back, asking for refunds or for orders to be redelivered and complete. Without acknowledgement, apology or follow up. Always arguments and denial from the management at the restaurant.
Last night I placed my last order with them and went and picked it up to see if this would make a difference. I asked for the free serving of the steamed rice they failed to deliver last time (2 weeks ago). They refused this and said there was no note of it not being delivered. After 5 minutes of going back and fourth in discussions with them, I advised it wasn't because of the price, it was principle. Once my food was ready, I realised they had forgotten one meal...AGAIN. They saidI had to wait another 10 minutes for this, yet weren't prepared to give me fresh food. I had golden bags and spring rolls that would get cold/soggy waiting for the food they had forgot to make. They were rude about how they handled this, demanded me to pay again for the meal despite their wrongdoing. I advised this is the last time I'd be coming back and the manager on duty didn't care nor acknowledge any fault of their service or handling. Poor customer experience...
