I don’t think I can put into words just how much I love Eat Cannoli. Since I came my first time, I’m here 1-3 times a week. AND there are vego and vegan options!! For starters the panino are so crisp and light inside (rare for GF bread), the optional fillings each have such attention to detail. My favourite is the Cotoletta and the crisp of the chicken and the way the sauerkraut and aioli cream up together in the toasted panino is just heavenly. The fritoli are crisp and soft and airy and the sugar is that sweet, perfect half caramelisation from the heat when they’re freshly cooked (just like nonna’s). Don’t even start me on the cannoli. I hated them as a kid - even when nonna made them, and now I simply cannot get enough. The crème brûlée ends of the vanilla cannoli? Genius and such a great attention to detail! Even the creamy centred roast vegetable brioche is such a rich treat. The coffee is amazing, a soy flat white always velvety and iced coffee strong but refreshing. Counting my lucky stars that whenever I need a good meal that reminds me of my heritage but also the creativity of Melbourne cafes - I’ve got them here. Thanks to all the lovely team - for great service, personal and friendly service but for also and bringing good Italian celiac comfort food to Melbourne. I’m simply obsessed and I can taste and see your passion...

I greeted staff pleasantly and was greeted back the same. Always nice has been my experience with staff, that's no issue. I asked for a small latte with two sugars and emphasized well stirred as in past experience it's been at the bottom. Once again, they delivered in that one. I asked for a fritoli and they said yep, is that all. And I said no, if you wouldn't mind walking me through the canoli's that you have which they did and I decided on two. They said it cam to $13, again no problem. I waited outside, not very long, and they delivered my coffee and a bag with what I assumed was everything along with a thank you and a smile and I hopped in my truck and drove off. Down the road I realise there's no fritoli. And that in itself is no big deal. People make mistakes and sometimes don't understand or hear correctly. The issue came when I called the number left on Google and there was no reply. I left a message to say what had happened and again no reply. I'm not after the staff being reprimanded or chastised, just acknowledgement that there was a mistake made and to mention it and have it raised with staff so that there's ongoing continuous improvement with customer service.

But clearly the owner would rather not acknowledge it and sweep it under the carpet. Disappointing to...

This rating is purely based on the cannolis which were extremely underwhelming.

After driving by many times, finally decided to go in and give the cannolis a go.

Much to my disappoint these cannolis did not deliver even in the slightest.. shells were overly hard which made it difficult to bite into and the flavouring or lack thereof in everything but the vanilla ones which tasted like nothing but egg.

In conclusion there is stark contrast between the pricing of the cannolis which is on the higher end and the quality of the cannolis which is on the lower end.

Update: Response to owner - Fresh filled handmade cannolis are definitely my vibe, it’s just unfortunate that you’re not able to produce anything of good quality / taste to merit a return to this shop. I wish you well on your journey to producing a ‘good cannoli’.

2nd Update: Response to sarcastic owners - I think you should focus your concern on the cannolis because like I detailed in my review and from the other reviews you have they aren’t doing ‘fine’ unfortunately which is why you received the review in the first place but it’s ok you can keep trying to deflect from the fact that your cannolis are actually garbage as opposed to doing something to...

100% Gluten Free cafe — there’s not much of these in Melbourne so if you’re after a GF friendly place, this is the place to go! We tried the— 🍴Italian sausage panino ($14) sausage, peppers, Gruyère, relish, rocket, aioli and chips ($3.50) 🍴Eggplant parmigiana panino ($14) eggplant, Gruyère, bocconcini, relish, aioli and rocket 🍴Cannoli (5 for $5.50 each) ☕️ Coffee ($5) ☕️ Green Juice ($4.50) Made fresh to order, everything was delicious. The paninis were very tasty, but I do think it’s quite small for a meal (could probably eat another one each 😅) They had a great variety of cannolis available, the most I’ve ever seen a cafe (even at regular non coeliac places) including vanilla crème brûlée, acai cheesecake, rhubarb and pear crumble, pistachio as well as your classics chocolate and ricotta. Staff were friendly, food came out relatively fast and they have great assortment of different gluten free takeaway meals, frozen foods, and bakery items available!

A contender for best cannoli in Melbourne. The cannoli is a marriage of a good shell with tasty filling. I tried three cannoli. My favourites were amaretto and ricotta but I was by no means disappointed by the chocolate. What makes these guys a tad different is that they are 100% gluten free. I didn’t miss the gluten in the cannoli. I enjoyed these tubes of amazing. Different coloured shells for those who eat with their eyes. While Eat Cannoli specialises in cannoli (obviously), there is a small selection of light meals and drinks. They also have tasty arancini balls made by Melbourne Arancini, the best in Melbourne. Friendly service, the owners are passionate and proud about their product as they should be. Well worth a visit to Eat Cannoli.

So hard to find a safe place to eat if you're very gluten intolerant or celiac, which makes me extra thankful for places like this. The effort they put in reflects in their products. I'm personally not a big fan of the canoli here, but that's probably just something that's impossible to make perfect using only GF ingredients. Their coffee is really good though.... and then there's the sandwiches... I can't even describe what it's like, but I'll try: heavenly, devine, ravishing, sensational, smashing, delightful, amazing!! For a moment it's as if I can eat bread like a normal person. The sandwich itself...the filling...these guys really know what they're doing! I even recommend this place to my non-allergic friends.
