It's one of those hidden gems in Melbourne ... vintage, brick, big shop front windows, long, back yard, warm, cozzy, and quieter vibes (no thumping music) late evening drinks kinda place ... never had their food, just drinks, and we've been here a few times in the past ... never had an issue ...
PITY, one of its young female staff, who thinks that's she's cool, indy, and a bit agitated, had a power tripping meltdown ... We, the guys, were talking outside, minding our own business, while the gals went inside an order their drinks, and find a table ... she came outside wanting a conversation, we told her, we were talking, well come in in 5 minutes, order our drinks and chat ... but NO, it has to be now, and we are not serving you drinks ... wow ...
Basic hospitality business, your job as a bartender is to serve patrons, patrons creates revenue, which pays you ... no patrons, no revenue, which means no job.
Later, we were told by our female companions that she went inside and gave them a lecture ... us, older guys are a danger to you, young females (they are in their 30s, 40s and 50s) 😊 should not be hanging out with those old guys outside ...
She also said, she had a bad day, death in the family ... sorry to hear ...

The perfect spot for a late nightcap with the evening happy hour, or if you stop in earlier a chat with friendly locals and bar staff. The cocktails are delicious and the selection in the fridge (and on the taps) has a good variety while remaining well priced.
If you're hungry they're happy to let you bring in local takeaway (Beast Burger, Bird Bang'N Chicken, and Korya all great options less than 5 minutes away) or delivery.
Whether you're sat on the couches inside, at the bar, or out in the covered beer garden - you can't go...
Read moreWe were looking for a place to have a pre-dinner drink and boy...what a find! This is a real cosy gem of a place. Love the wood throughout. Plenty of different spots inside and outside the venue to have a drink too, depending on the weather and the size of your group. The mulled cider they had was delicious and perfect for a cold afternoon. We don't normally head that side of town for dinner/drinks but it is a place worthy of venturing...
