Edit - after an initial positive response from this venue, I returned yesterday to the cafe. I realised I had overlooked payment on my last visit and asked to pay. The staff member I had previously had an unpleasant experience with was lovely and we made amends. Pretty sad to see the nasty and incorrect update from the business owner below. I was directed to sit down by the person making coffee. You guys really could do better.
An unpleasant experience - I will not return. Although I was greeted warmly and had previously had a positive experience, I was told to take a seat when I tried to order a coffee. The staff member Taking orders was having such a lovely chat with another customer that she didn’t notice me sit down. When I saw a big bunch of people come in and order at the counter, I realised I would not get my coffee in time. So I approached and asked to order before the big group. This seemed fine but the staff member clunked my coffee down when she brought it to my table which didn’t seem ok. I have been buying coffees, with friends, regularly for a number of years all the way up and down High Street ( we have tried virtually every cafe ) ... the most we have ever been charged has been $5.00 and often less ... ( $4.50 - $4.80 ) When I told my friend that we had been charged $6.00 for the coffees today - he was certainly very surprised. if you can justify a 20% hike to your customers over the maximum price I've paid ... all the best of luck to you .. I certainly feel for small business and hospitality, especially in this state ... but please be mindful that we are ALL experiencing the pressures of increasing cost of living .. and as for my reviews, I call out and comment on poor service, product and overpricing, and acknowledged and congratulated excellent experiences ... Read moreI went in to order brunch. I waited for a while but no staff showed me to table or brought a menu so i went to join que to ask for one at counter. The staff finally give me a menu and say they'll come over to take order. 5 mins later still no-one has come. The cafe isn't busy. There's about 7 people eating. So i go to the country to order. The guy looks confused and asks rudely why I am alone. (Does this matter) and takes my order. I wait a further 5/10 mins assuming food is coming and then he comes over and say 'oh so did you want to order?" I was like what? I just ordered at the counter from you. " And he's like " sorry i didn't understand. I thought you were waiting for friends" at no point did i say that.
