Franklin's Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

As soon as we walked in there was no other way to describe the bar staff but "uncomfortably unfriendly". We almost felt guilty for walking into the bar. When ordering a round at the bar one of the bartenders was really rude to a guy asking about ordering pizza (They used to have a partnership with a pizza joint opposite where you could order through the bar). The staff rudely told him he could just uber eats. When the customer clarified that he couldn't order through the bar another bartender said "Yeah, that's what we just said". I was in Trumpy last Saturday night. It was packed with a really weird mix of people - some really friendly but others really aggressive.

There were two people working behind the bar and the service was really slow. Anything up to half-an-hour just to get a beer. Both bar staff looked really bored and one was super rude when asking people to move from the outdoor area to inside - she seemed to believe that the only way to do that was to shout abuse.

Being a long time resident of Thornbury, Trumpy is not representative of the clientele and service of many of the other great bars...

Trumpys is great. Need a good drink of any kind? trumpys has got you covered. Need a nice meal? 150% times a thousand, TRUMPYS. The food is absolutely beautiful!! I wouldn’t think of this place so much as a dinner joint. Mostly because I tend to come after the kitchen is closed, with a drink in mind but a friend and i came in and we were very pleasantly surprised! We had the eggplant chips. Amazing. The veg pakora.
