I must say there are very lovely few girls who work here . they are very good - taking orders and recognising, noticing the customers. coffee as a product is OK not the best. my partner and i had coffees few times but my partner had been going there almost every day since he worked from home. he started noticing there is that ONE girl, who NEVER looks at you when you get served or say HI or be pleasant. these three things are NOT BIG asks? I will give five stars to all the rest of the girls and there is one always smile who remembers your name even but this one person's serious mistreatment on a regular basis made us STOP going there, may be she is the senior staffer/owner you better act LIKE one, my simple suggestion. Last time we had coffee there was a 12 min wait, we understand it could get busy. this particular person said to all the other customers "sorry to keep you waiting or thanks for waiting" but for us none! but the first name and coffee. I was thinking may be we look a lot browner but then again this particular person is look a lot like our back ground as well. we are sad to post this .. but we thought we express our selves. we have stopped having coffee or going that side of the garden for many weeks now. we are simple people who would like to be accepted as the rest...
Read moreThe coffee here is alright, but the customer service really took away from the experience. It honestly felt like the staff were in their own little world—more focused on chatting with each other than actually serving customers.
My friend and I were sitting there for a while, and even though the place was busy, there was no real urgency. If you’re in a rush, I wouldn’t recommend coming here. They seem to make and serve the coffee whenever they feel like it.
One coffee was just sitting on the counter for over 10 minutes—no one even called the name.
There was also an issue with the efpos machine, and the girl who was meant to be making coffees stopped what she was doing to help fix it—while customers were still waiting.
To the owner: people come in for a coffee to unwind, not to feel frustrated. A little focus on customer service and teamwork could make a huge difference. Right now, it feels like the place is more about the staff having a good time than the customers having a...
Read moreHello and good day. This, I think is my sixth review in less than twenty-four hours. At various venues. One of them was for the Gather on TripAdvisor. I don't like typing out reviews on my mobile phone, I prefer the keyboard, but hey here I am.
What I do like, nay love is the Gather cafe nestled in Wilson Botanic Gardens on the shoulder of the lake. The botanic Gardens and the Cafe is a perfect marriage of convenience. Who doesn't want to grab a coffee before going for an idyllic walk around the gardens? And the coffee is good, very good.
The service is equally good, the girls friendly and kind. It's been so good for me that I've gone three hundred and thirty six days unbroken which indicates the quality of the place. There are a thousand and one places locally where I could for my coffee, yet I choose the Gather. it really does feel...
