REVIEW: This was still a lot of food for 5 people. We spent $33.00pp here and left quite full! So affordable! I don't have much experience with Ethiopian food, so gave it a neutral 3. The food was very earthy, tart and a little sour from the injera. The injera texture was really interesting. It's incredibly flexible, a little sour so it breaks through the heaviness of the savoury dishes and it came in this web like texture.
Service was friendly and eating only with my hands was an experience. Unfortunately as this is my third time trying African food I'm leaning towards that the flavours and textures from this cuisine aren't quite for me. Read moreI absolutely love this place! The food is so so delicious and my partner and I always order the Mahberawi. Unfortunately, the menu states it’s “all you can eat” but we were charged for one additional serve $23 after it. We go between this place and the Abyssinian in Kensington frequently for Ethiopian food. Not sure which we prefer but this place is frequented by locals which is a...
Read moreGojo Ethiopian Cafe & Restaurant is a distinctive standout stop for great barista style coffee and tasty food. It has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Gojo is a prime choice whether you want a latte-to-go on the way to the train station or a relaxing restaurant meal. It is also another of the few places in the Sunshine commercial district where you can get a barista style coffee and they brew them right up to around 8:30PM which is awesome for late shift workers. Gojo is also a haven for you vegetarian freaks and has a huge choice of wholesome hot vego foods (don't you vegetations get sick of tofu and raw salad?). Check them out if you haven't already...
