One of my best friends, from a very young age, told me they he had a truly exceptional, whale of a time in Goon Korean BBQ in Australia. Apparently, this exquisite establishment serves the highest quality, authentic, natural Korean meat, at many different price ranges. From a simple fried chicken, to the most premium Wagyu beef, Goon Korean BBQ has everything.
As the unique brand name would clearly suggest, there is a really strong, loving, devoted, community of members and people's in the resturants. They all have heartfelt conversations with one another, expressing their desires in this restaurant. In the future, if I ever was able to afford flying to Australia, I might consider visiting Goon Korean BBQ to not miss out on this once in a lifetime experience.
My friend particularly highlighted the delightful waitresses, who he said was pretty well experienced in serving the needs of the customers. "They are able to build a strong, emotional bond, simply beyond just bringing food and drinks to the table", my friend said in a BBC article in 2019. He also exclaims that he would hope to have his wedding in this fine exquisite eatery.
From what my friend has told me, Goon Korean BBQ seems like the perfect place to visit, for like minded people in this massive community. He repeatedly highlights that the service and staff are nothing like he's seen anywhere else. He also mentioned that the waiting time for the food is roughly...
Read moreIn my honest opinion, it was quantity not quality. Don’t get me wrong, the food was okay. It wasn’t anything great by any means. I normally get sucked in and tend to overspend at these places and fall for 250$ wagyu etc etc but I’m glad that I didn’t on this one.
Like I said, it’s not the worst, but there is plenty of other better Korean BBQ places out there.
Meat was tough chicken was average, and service was probably below average.
We ordered the 93$ set meal and some tempura prawns and the seafood pancake.
Honestly, I’m not one to count the minutes, but the food took its time to come out.
No napkins, we asked for water when we sat down, (which we actually never got) The lady just kept trying to push the over priced beer on us lol.
Not going to lie we were quite full after the set meal and were not keen on the other bits of food that was going to come out.
After around 20 minutes of waiting for the other food, we decided to leave and pay the bill. And thought if we get charged for the meals that we didn’t end up getting we would just notify the staff about it.
But as we got rung up our bill, it was only at 93$ which was only the cost of the set meal.so obviously our other orders didn’t get put through at all.
Like I said, average. Would I recommend..? Ehh probs not. Especially not when they charge a bottle of sailor Jerry’s at 189$ lol it’s a 60$ bottle from...

We spent $33.58pp here, between the 4 of us.
REVIEW: Guys. DO NOT listen to their 2pp guidance. After consuming Goon's beef & pork belly set, the 4 of us were satiated and wanted to shoot ourselves for ordering the army stew as well. Goon BBQ are generous, and if you wanted to err on the side of caution you're better off getting a smaller soup as opposed to committing to a full army stew.
Goon also don't seem to be "traditional" korean, because their also offered slices of pineapple in the meat and there was a variety of bbq sauces (soy powder) that added a bit of interest and intrigue for us. They also don't use coal, but your regular gas heat and there's no ventilation. Be prepared to smell like KBBQ!
The service was friendly, and it seems like there's enough space to hold a big group downstairs. There's cute little trinkets around the restaurant to catch your eye - it's well designed to add an element of fun to the environment.
Goon BBQ is great if you want a casual bbq. However my favourite is still...
