Iâve had a wonderful experience at a number of Guzman y Gomez locations, and this Brunswick location is my favourite by far.
I am so grateful to the staff who are willing to work through the night and into the early morning, so that myself and others can access yummy, fresh, affordable food at unusual times when most restaurants are closed. Thank you so much, you have saved this disorganised hungry dumbass so many times!
The food quality is consistently excellent. Every time Iâve ordered here, the food has been fresh, hot, and extremely well seasoned - the best of any Guzman y Gomez location Iâve visited, and Iâve been to a lot of them. Major kudos to the kitchen, who are able to deliver high quality food very quickly, even during very busy periods.
The customer service here is top notch. When I visited last night, I had an ADHD moment and forgot that the menu item I always order isnât vegan in its base form. It was 100% my fault - I completely forgot to ask to substitute the cheese for the vegan herbed mayo. I realised what Iâd done a few minutes later and went back to the counter to ask if they hadnât made the order, if they could please do it with herbed mayo instead of cheese, because my body just cannot tolerate dairy. Unfortunately, my order had already been made (again, major props to the efficiency of this kitchen!). But the staff offered to remake my order with the vegan substitute, for no charge, even though it was completely my fault that I placed the wrong order. That is above and beyond fantastic customer service, and I am so grateful.
Thank you so much to every single member of the GyG Brunswick staff, you have made every single visit an absolute pleasure, and I will definitely be...
Read moreI enjoy ordering through the app, arriving 20 minutes after the âreadyâ time intentionally, yet I still wait an additional 15 minutes, whether the place is busy or quiet. Why indicate the order is ready when it isnât? Please improve your operations. Additionally, the staff seem indifferent, providing some of the poorest customer service. They often ignore customers, and you practically have to shout to get their attention at the counter. Recently, I returned and noticed that when an older Indian gentleman is working, the food quality is consistently poor. Attached is a photo of a âtacoâ with minimal meat and fillings, suggesting extreme cost-cutting, perhaps because heâs the owner. This is the second time Iâve experienced this issue when heâs on shift. The food lacks proper tortilla coating and the extra sauce I requested on the side. The photo is completely authentic and truly disappointing. I wish I could know his work schedule to avoid ordering during his shifts. In contrast, the younger staff members prepare food well. The wait time hasnât improved either. Twice, my food was ready but left sitting while the staff remained in the back, seemingly unconcerned about serving customers at the counter. I only visit this place because itâs open 24/7, and it should be a better alternative to McDonaldâs, but at this point, McDonaldâs is preferable. I also observed this same Indian gentleman licking his gloves in the back of house while preparing food, which was shocking. This isnât a street food stall in Kolkata; this is Australia, and hygiene standards should...
Read moreI've ordered takeaway twice from here and today was the first day I dined in. My pulled beef brisket enchilada was brought to me presented with a wooden fork stabbed in the middle of the regular sized enchilada. I asked for metal cutlery and was told there wasn't any. Then I asked if there were knives at least and the waiter offered to bring me a knife. I waited but he didn't return and meanwhile the enchilada was getting cold. When I got up to the counter he saw me from the back and came to the front to apologise that he forgot. I appreciated his apology and I wasn't upset. I sat down and attempted to eat it with the wooden fork and knife and it was a challenging mission especially because the enchilada wrap is so thick. Unfortunately, with all the cheese, guacamole and sour creme I was unable to pick it up and eat it like a hamburger with my hands. He came back over and he could see the struggle he then offered to go and find a metal knife but never returned and maybe our conversation got lost in translation. I'm all for sustainability but dining in should warrant common sense cutlery. I'll still order from here but it will be take away, unless the cutlery is appropriate to enable the food...
