The Bergy Seltzer — Restaurant in Melbourne

I had a tentative booking due to Covid uncertainty and wrote ""Can you please hold the date for me tentatively, if you get another enquiry for the date give me a call on 04xxx... and I’ll make a decision for you either way so you don’t lose out. "

They took another booking without calling me and then would not change it. What is the point of a tentative booking then? I obviously would have tentatively booked somewhere else if I knew that it literally had no meaning to them whatsoever.

Terrible service and really poor form not own up to the mistake...

It's a really weird venue. Pokey, not much space. There was an oven on in the kitchen behind the stage, and they weren't even serving food.

The sound guy who was also bar staff was climbing over our gear on the stage to get ice from the ice machine.

The sound was good though and good crowd.

They oddly had the heaters on outside in the beer garden, not really an 3nvironmentally friendly venue.

Not enough room onstage, wouldn't play there again...

Also one of the 0 alcohol beers I suspect was off as it smelled and tasted...

The Bergy Seltzer was the perfect setting for our wedding celebration. Having recently tied the official knot in the UK we needed a place to share the joy with our Aussie friends and family.

The space was transformed into the romantic dive bar we dreamed of and our guests were treated to excellent service and an amazing party. Exactly what we wanted!

A great space for any event and wonderful staff to work with.
