Schnitz Barkly Square — Restaurant in Melbourne

I place my order and go to sit down, it's not busy at 4pm on a weekend yet all the tables have dirty plates on them. I wipe down my own table with a napkin so I have somewhere sightly cleaner to eat.

When my meal arrives, the schnitzel's breading is undercooked and white as the flour before cooking, and portion significantly smaller than the small chips next to it on the plate. Worst of all, I take a bite and the meat is cold, like it had been pre-cooked before I got there. The chips have way too much seasoning, and the salad is a bowl of wiltered green leaves, with soggy onion on top.

This isn't the first time I've been disappointed by this store. This time though I sent it back for them to make again. The staff member didn't seem to care. On the replacement meal arriving, no explanation was given our apology for the bad meal. The replacement wasn't much better but at least the meat was less likely to give me salmonella poisoning.

Consistently unreliable. And check your take away bag before you leave the store to make sure everything is in there! I live a few blocks away and have gone in here a few times, as well as ordered once through apps. My latest trip resulted in a Garden of Eden wrap minus the carrot and beetroot (which is what it should have standard). It was also wrapped very shoddy and falling apart. Prior orders have had missing ingredients also, as well as missing sauces for the chips. On the one occasion I ordered through Menulog there were no chips either (ended up getting refunded through Menulog though). It's a shame as the chips here are generally good. The problem is the staff, who are not thorough, don't prepare wraps properly, don't check the orders carefully enough to ensure everything you've paid for is included, and probably don't really care. This place isn't cheap to order from either. It's expensive! But after several mess ups I'm now done...

Every table was dirty, I cleaned our table with hand sanitizer and napkins. The entire time we were there they did not bus a single table, and they were not at all busy. When I commented, they said, they would have cleaned if we had Asked. Floors were Gross, there was literally a nail clipping under our table. My salad had brown and sloppy spinach and lettuce leaves in it, so way past use by salad mix, and only two pieces of cucumber, and two cherry tomatoes, for $6....., No apologies, no refunds, my first serve of chips were cold, they did replace them. Very, subpar not worth the close to $20meal. My dining companion enjoyed their meal, but wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, especially as this was pre dinner time, when you would expect, they would be trying to get the dining area prepared...
