Hampton Swordfish & Chippers is located on EXTREMELY busy Hampton Street in Hampton. Parking is generally very difficult. The shop itself is nothing special, just your average suburban fish and Chip Shop, with a few small tables out on the busy footpath next to a very busy road. HOWEVER, the food we got was excellent generous sized golden fried flake with a delicious crisp batter, perfectly fried dim sim, crispy chips, a tasty spring roll and nicely grilled piece of Dirt fillet. Rather than eat on the footpath we drove to the nearby beach park and enjoyed our food with views of the nearby Port Philip Bay Beach. Some of the BEST potatoes Cakes I've had in years, hand made, from real potatoes with a great crispy batter. The ONLY complaint was the pickled onions!! Although generously sized, all 3 of these were dreadful! Mushy and soggy with a bland flavour instead of crisp and zingy to go with our chips. Not sure if it's just a bad batch? But 3 out of 3 soggy rounds of disappointment. Everything else was fantastic, please fix those onions...

I just visited with my two sons (they’re adopted but don’t tell them) Walt - 28yo, approx 72 fish fillets and Patrick - 24 approx like 3 potato cakes with added salt. They were delighted not only with the greeting by the friendly staff, but they were TRANSFIXED at the quality of oil, salt, and paper linings of boxes.
