I visited Harvey's earlier this week for the first time it was early evening and the bar wasn't overly full. Myself and a couple of friends went for an early bite to eat. Firstly the positives, really nice decor, the bar is comfortable and relaxed with plenty of space between the tables, the menu is nice with plenty of variety and something to suit most palates, the Food was well cooked and flavoursome with decent size portions. Unfortunately for me the staff let this place down, with the exception of Faye who took our order and Denise who served the table. Nobody else seems too interested in their job. I should say at this point we only experienced the front bar. The food order took ages and arrived at our table in dribs and drabs despite the place not being particularly busy. When we pointed this out to Denise she sorted it out for us as quickly as she could white being apologetic and helpful at the same time. When another bar person came over to clear our table we thanked her and were met with silence. Not the best way to treat customers in my opinion. There seems to be a definite lack of leadership here the guy who seemed to be in charge didn't really appear to inteested in his clientele and was very short bordering on rude when I asked for directions to the toilet. I really hope they get their act together because this could be a really great bar. I look forward...
Read moreWent with some mates to watch the 1v3 footy game and Harvey’s had the perfect setup for it. The main bar has a huge projected screen with commentary played loud during the quarters, and they switch to music in between – a nice touch to keep the energy up.
The service was excellent – staff were fast, friendly, and quick to clear plates without being pushy. The food was really solid: we had garlic bread with cheese and a parma, all tasty and well-prepared. Prices are a little on the higher side for a sports bar, but if you stick to their meal deals, it’s good value. Only gripe was that the burger and pint deal didn’t include a soft drink option (would’ve been handy since I was driving).
Atmosphere-wise, it’s extremely loud, so if you’re after a relaxed night, maybe not the spot – but if you want to soak up the energy of a big game with a crowd, it’s...
Read moreWent here about a month back. Absolute ball ache trying to convince someone there to change the channel on one of the dozens and dozens of TV’s in there, which ultimately didn’t happen yet. I was told it wasn’t possible and got shut down quickly , yet they seem to change the channel at will anyways. Atmosphere was decent. But the Parma I had was overpriced and undersized, $30-$32 ? It was the size of my palm and tasted like soggy wheat bix with cheese on it. Iv had much more enjoyable experiences at the Sporting Globe in Richmond and The College Lawn in Prahran. Iv had easy and reasonable experiences with getting channels changed and the food is yards better for a similar price. With a comparable if not better atmosphere. You’re better off saving your money , and watching your favourite sport at home with a few stubbys. Will not...
