This is a beautiful and well maintained gardens and being close to St Kilda Pier and by the sea, is in a picture perfect location and a perfect place for picnics, a children's play area, and a venue for weddings and wedding photography, open-air festivals including creative arts and music festivals, and other community events. The weekend gentle pony rides are popular with families.

The facilities at the gardens are excellent and include, restrooms with disabled toilets and baby change, a large children's playground set into a large sand pit and with shade sails and bright contemporary play equipment, a large rotunda/gazebo which is ideal and often used for intimate weddings and wedding photography, BBQ’s, foreshore cafe kiosks nearby, picnic tables, bench seats, drinking fountain, beautiful walking paths lined with magnificent large Canary Island palm trees, perimeter paths for walking or jogging, large areas of lush green lawns and mature shade trees, fun possums and birds to look at, and lots of great foreshore views, a picture perfect spot for sunset viewings.

The main disappointment here is the condition and cleanliness of the toilets. The public toilets need more regular...

If you're in St Kilda you have to check out Catani Gardens. It seperates the ocean from Beaconsfield Parade. This park has BBQ area's to cook a snag or 2 on tables & bench seats & a childrens playground area for the kids to run wild on.The grass is lush.Lots of open space to have a kick or a crack at cricket. Great place for families or friends to get together. Toilets & restroom facilities provided. The park is dwarfed by very old trees including alot of palms so plenty of shaded areas to get out of the sun if need be.The old rotunda is still there & is utilised for those special celebrations.Walking & jogging paths are on the outer edge of the park or along the ocean side. On weekends weather permitted they still have the pony rides for the kids. Catani Gardens is so close to everything. So much to see & do here. The City of Port Phillip Council do a fantastic job in the upkeep of this place. It's usually the start or finish line for triathlons, marathons, fundraising & charity events or music events. It's definitely a place well used by the community...

It's a cool quiet place in the midst of St kilda's hussle and bustle. I enjoyed strolling there with my baby especially on warm days. The play area is alright, but if it's hot and sunny, the swings and slides can be really dangerous as the play area is not well sheltered and the sand can be really hot. There used to be a lot of bugs too in the green grass as well, which was very annoying. The toilets can be really dirty sometimes. All in all it is a nice place to walk off the stress if you live in the area. If you are a tourist, passing by won't hurt as it is a few steps away from St Kilda beach and pier. Sunsets there are magical.

We had a wonderful family evening at this beautiful spot! The atmosphere was lively and full of good vibes, with stunning views of both the city skyline and the harbour. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a family outing. There's plenty of space for a picnic, and you can even hop on an e-bike for a fun ride. Parking is easily available, too. We loved strolling down to the pier, and the highlight was spotting penguins around sunset — a magical experience for everyone! Highly recommend it for a relaxing and memorable family day out.
