Last night we had a booking for 6.30 for 2 people. We arrived at 6.20, greeted by the old owner?/doorman who has no customer service skills. He informed us it was booked out (it looked full already) and I said "yes, we have a booking" as I spied a table tucked away in the back corner. He has no booking sheet to go off so I pointed and said "that must be our table" BUT when I say the restaurant was full, I mean packed like sardines!! I wondered how we would actually get to our table. My husband turned to leave because of the rude welcome we had received, but I wanted to stay. So off we went to our corner table. Well the poor lady on the next table had to get up out of her seat to push her chair in so I had any chance of getting to my chair. And she was already eating!! I'm not a large person! Everyone turned to watch the ordeal. That was quite embarrassing. There was no ice bucket offered for our sparkling wine, I was too scared to ask for champagne glasses so made do with the wine glasses, and my husband opened the wine. The waitress who took our order knows us as we used to be regulars but she pretended she didn't. The only staff member who was pleasant was the lady from the kitchen who brought out our entrees. The main courses took nearly an hour and were plonked down without a word. The food is really good but honestly, the service is getting really bad there. The door guy needs to retire (sorry). He's not even dressed properly (Champion windcheater). Their takeaway delivery guy trudges through the restaurant constantly between deliveries - is there a back door?? Maybe they need to stagger their bookings, it seems that everyone was there by 5.30/6.00. Yes the food is important but we go out to dinner for the whole experience. Last night was very disappointing. We miss Grandfa in Seaford!! That was a Thai restaurant that got...
Read moreThe gentleman at the door was welcoming, and we were impressed by the atmosphere as we walked in. The food arrived quickly, and at first, we were satisfied. We ordered the prawn spring rolls, which were decent. However, we also ordered two Pad See Ew dishes, but the waitress misheard and brought us Pad Thai instead.
Rather than apologizing for the mix-up, she walked away and later returned, insisting that we had ordered Pad Thai. She then sarcastically remarked that her ears “must not be working,” rolled her eyes, and left. When she finally brought out the correct dish, she placed it on the table without a word—no apology, no “enjoy your meal,” just pure disregard. I also asked for a little bit of chili, but she overloaded the dish to the point where it was inedible and set my mouth on fire.
We sent the dish back, but to our surprise, she still requested that we pay for it. Unfortunately, the food itself was average, and the service was shocking. Based on this experience, we won’t...
Read moreAfter reading the other reviews, I am genuinely shocked this restaurant is rated so high. I ate here midweek in the evening and the venue was less than a third full. In 10 minutes no one came to take our order, I had to ask, then we waited almost half an hour for the entree which was very average (deef fried tofu). We ordered a seafood grilled plate which again was very average and lacking in real taste - the fish was also chewy and overcooked. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao/Mow which I expected to be hot, but it was actually inedible, with the level of chilli overpowering any flavour. This place had been recommended to us but it was a let down in service and food. The gentleman greeting customers at the door was lovely and that was the only highlight - hence...
