Hot Spot Chicken — Restaurant in Melbourne

I would say its an okay place for recommendation but if a better place opened we would stop buying from Hot Spot Chicken.

The food was initially really good but recently we noticed a decline in quality. It's true, their flakes aren't battered well and the batter they use is a bread crumb variety that isnt the as good as it would be if they used a nice lightly seasoned batter.

The potato cakes have been over cooked in the past but we order chips more and recently the chips have been over cooked, as well. Their chicken is still good but they recently changed the creaming hot dipping sauce, it's not as nice as it was previously. Plus, their chicken and beef burgers in general are so bad now, we wont even buy them, as they have been using soggy ingredients and old lettuce in the burgers too many times!

It's a shame, this place has good prices and started off quite well but it's dropping in quality isn't making us rush to buy their food anymore when we are looking...

The food here is great, but the customer service is just average. The biggest issue is the wait time. When you order something like a Family Feast, they tell you it will take 20 to 30 minutes. However, when you arrive to pick it up, you often end up waiting over an hour. This delay seems to be because they prioritize smaller orders—like a quarter chicken and chips or half a chicken and chips—for walk-in customers. Since these smaller orders require fewer pieces of chicken, they are fulfilled more quickly, while those who have pre-ordered larger meals are left waiting for whole chickens to finish roasting.

I have witnessed this firsthand—whole chickens are already available when I arrive, yet they are cut into smaller portions and prioritized for later walk-in orders. It’s clear that profit is being prioritized over customer service, as I’ve seen customers who ordered long after me receive their food first. This practice is frustrating and...

Very rude staff and customer service the food has gone down hill now and too expensive now it used to be great what has happened to the way it used to be. The last time we came we bought 🥔 potato cakes they were too hard and tasted funny like they were off. The 🍟 chips were very oily and over cooked. My wife bought chicken 🐔 there once and it was very dry and tasted funny like it was over cooked. We would rather go to another chicken shop where has better food. Last time l bought a seafood salad with the white mayonnaise sauce on it for my husband ,my husband said it tasted like the mayonnaise you buy from the supermarket. What a disaster. You guys will never see us back in your shop again. You guys need alot of improvement. You guys have to stop selling halal food cause it is very disappointing and doesn't taste nice.
