Kachi Kachi — Restaurant in Melbourne

Not sure if there has been any change in ownership recently. I am all for supporting a local family business but my visit today left me questioning that intention. Both parents and two children were attempting to run the shop on a busy Friday. There was no method to the madness. I placed my order for a burger and chips. 30 secs after paying I requested that I wanted fries instead of thick cut chips and I was told I couldn't change as the chips were cooked already. I wasn't too fussed and thought if the chips are ready I'd have the meal ready pretty soon. 20 mins later I was still waiting for my burger to be ready while the chips were sitting on a counter getting cold. My biggest concern was the hygiene around the food. Both kids and mother were touching the food with bare hands both raw and cooked while touching the phone, various people's cash (the dirtiest thing is notes) Not to mention they were constantly bumping into each other juggling all tasks of cooking prepping and taking orders and payments. Also, one person would salt the chips on the counter and turn around to do something else. Another one would then salt the same tray and turn around to do another task. I observed a customer come in to buy 2 potato cakes and her payment was taken. She asked how long and was told 20 mins. Understandably she did not want to wait 20 mins for a potato cake and requested to get her money back which was given incorrectly and then had to be corrected.

All I wanted to do was just help them get their process in order and stop the chaos that was this shop. But giving unsolicited advice is not my thing. I came home, ate my cold chips and resolved...

The place was clean. Seating options include standard tables and chairs or a bench looking out the window with higher seats. No high chairs.

The volume of food was great considering each pack was $10. However, one of the packs we received was not what we ordered. Instead of calamari rings and fish bites, we got chicken "popcorn" and nuggets with battered fish. I didn't mind as, surprisingly, both my toddler and I greatly enjoyed the battered fish. Be careful to go there. That lady is actually double faces. I ordered a piece of flake and they accidently dropped on the floor. They just picked up and still give to me that dirty one. It was extremely disgusted me and I ask her why she does that? Well, she said to me that they don't need customers like me who only ordered $7 dollars flake. You know what Miss?
