Lucky Express &Tasty Kitchen — Restaurant in Melbourne

Giving 3 stars because we frequent this restaurant and it is usually 5 stars. Tonight I tried to call the restaurant to order 3 times with no answer so I ordered using their online orders feature. I like to call so I can make sure the restaurant is aware of my shellfish allergy. I ordered ahead of time for my partner to pick up on her way home from work, putting a note for the kitchen about my shellfish allergy. When my partner arrived the restaurant knew nothing about our order. The man who served her went through some receipts and told her 5 mins. Obviously we had somehow been overlooked/ forgotten. These things happen, no big deal. Upon getting the food home however we discovered that the shellfish had been added to the dishes despite information about the allergy being given. Have tried to call the restaurant another 6 times since and still no answer. Again not the end of the world it’s just one dish I won’t eat, but it’s a shame that something like this has somewhat lessened our opinion of what we once thought to be a fantastic restaurant. Had this been the only dish we had ordered, or had I not noticed and eaten the shellfish, things could have been worse than they are currently. Just some food...

Very prompt delivery with Uber Eats, ordered not long before closing and was delivered by 9:09pm. Mongolian beef was very yummy, lots of good tender beef pieces and all the vegetables were tasty and fresh - not full of filler veg like a lot of other places - lots of sauce too, not dry or oily. Too much batter on the lemon chicken and dipping sauce was not very nice. The actual chicken was nice though. I will skip the prawn and chicken dumplings next time. They were quite plain, definitely needed the dipping sauce. Mongolian fried rice was nice, again lots of nice veg and good amount of chicken pieces, but I would of liked the chicken to have a bit more Mongolian sauce as it needed something more. Chicken was ok but soggy and cold even though I paid priority delivery. The lid was also broken so I had to pick out the plastic from inside the chicken container. Had to chuck the lemon sauce as it didn’t taste like lemon but more like washing detergent, my dad couldn’t eat it. The steamed rice was a ball of overcooked mush. I rated them on uber eats and the restaurants reply was “ we hope you won’t order food again”!! That’s really good customer service!!!???
